    According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

        I think that people do the opposite just as often - how many times have we heard about how players seemed to have more time on the ball or had better skill or whatever in the past. I guess the average age on the internet biases discussion here in favour of more recent players though. I don't think you can really make any sort of comparison across ages. I think it is reasonable to use the analogy of how some players who look excellent in one league struggle in different leagues in the same period of time.
