I think 10 points is too much.

If we beat United at home I think we will have a realistic chance of winning the league.

is it true that we will still have a game in hand going into Jan? We play West Ham on the 29th of Jan dont we???

I really feel that the biggest game of the season will be the mancs at home in December. I reckon if we win, then hopefully we will be within 3 or 4 points of the top - if we lose then it could be 7 or 8!!!

I hope to **** that we beat the pricks because that would scare the **** outta them...

As for the fact that we are playing manU, Arse and Chavs away after xmas - if we are ahead of any of those teams at that stage, then we are likely to win there. If a team has to come at us, and try to force a win, i believe that we now have the players to beat any team on the counter-attack. If we have to force the game, then i am unsure.....

We're not winning the league, although I'll happily eat my words if I'm wrong.

If we're within 6 points, we've got a chance, although we'd have to go on an amazing run in order to pull it off. And that's not likely, considering that we've got Arsenal, the Scum, Chelsea and Spurs away.

I'll be happy if we finish within 10 points of the champions...as long as the champions aren't Man United.

I agree with Willa. We can't afford to let the gap extend beyond 6 points if we have title aspirations.

6 Points at Christmas I think is too much considering the away games at the other three.

3 points would be better, which would mean that we would have to win all the games including the Scum from now to Christmas

Any more than 6 and with the 3 top games away would be a tall order.

The Man U match's will be the make or break for us.
                Agree with that.

We can't afford to be more than six points behind. Hopefully we'll be a lot closer at that stage though.

I think those that are saying we can pull back a ten or twelve point gap are being overly optimistic. That's just too much to pull back and we can't afford to keep playing catch up.

Well, I think Arsenal need to build up a gap if they want to win, because they'll have a good number of players away at the African Nations Cup.

Chelsea will also have a couple of key players missing and the only really unaffected teams will be us and the Scum..... (not having Momo to select for a game may even make us a little stronger the way hae is playing)

Arsenal will be affected not as much as a lot of people make out:
                      Toure
                      Song
                      Eboue

Adebayor won't go because Togo didn't make it. The rest are surprisingly French

Chelsea will miss on some key players: Drogba, Mikel, Essien, Kalou

Not more than 6 points off the top.

                          Far too much.

If we're 10 points behind by Jan 1st, we're out of the title race.

It will depend on if we are still in the CL or not.

We can probably be further behind if we are knocked out.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Chelsea could struggle in the next few months - with Cech and Terry; their two key defensive players out for the foreseeable future and the above all heading off for the ANC it's difficult to see them sustaining a serious title challenge.

For all the talk of Arsenal and Chelsea, Man U are the biggest threat and we are potentially only 3 points behind them and they've still to come to Anfield.

                                It's well and truly on....
