You've got to credit Sami though, everyone's been saying he's basically past it for years now, and though his painful lack of pace is quite obvious, he's still been giving everything he's got to the cause this season. Has there ever been a better value for money purchase, what was he £2.5m or something back in the day.
Sami = legend
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
Mine angry and defrauded young?

spot on
It pisses me off no end when people slag off Sami after games - the guy is a legend and probably the best value we've had in a signing ever. OK he's past it but he give 100% - for those who want to throw in Hobbs in instead of Sami, you are ****ing mental. Hobbs won't be fit to replace Sami at his current level for another 2 years - at least

Although im in a overwhelming minority, I dont think hes past it at all, I dont think hes lost pace cos hes never ****in had any, im quicker than him
But wether im right or wrong, we both agree on one undeniable fact, and that is the fact that sami is a lfc legend and has spent the best part of his adult life working his arse off for our club, on the field AND off it. The man is pure class and some of these ****s on here that just write him off like some insignificant piece of **** that has never done anything for our club cos theyve seen another "superstar" on youtube need a good ****in slap

We couldn't have asked for a better servant to the club. In an ideal world, with Carra and Agger on the books, he would just be a backup currently, he probably would be the first to agree with that himself, the kind of guy who does put the interest of the club ahead of his own (hence him sticking around to be third choice rather than buggering off elsewhere just to be guaranteed a start). But we're very lucky to have a player of his calibre and experience as such. I'd be more made up for him than anyone else at the club if we could pull off no 19 while he's still here, would give him the complete set of medals and be a fitting testimonial to his status as a total lfc legend.

Secondly, Kompany would be an excellent signing for us. I thought he was about 25 or 26 as he seems to have been around for years! Obviously started his career pretty young.
I agree that Sami is a legend. But it has worried me that he seems to be not so strong in the air as he used to. The two goals against Spurs and the chance Bentley got come to mind.
Not just saying that because of FM but he is a top player. Him and his former team mate Vanden Borre
Believe it or not, I have both of them in my Liverpool team in Championship manager (+ Miki Roque who is an absolute legend in RB) and they never let me down
