Stop being such a crybaby drama queen just because i happen to think someone's wrong.
I'm no cry baby FFS, I just try to bring about balanced discussions that's all mate.

We could make a poll and I'm sure 100% of people in here will agree that you base your opinion as being the ultimate one. Nothing is gained acting like that in life, because you'll be marginalized.

I have no divine right to have the best opinion, we should all meet in between.

When Rafa came in his first buy was Josemi.

He played him right back and Finnan (because of injuries) played right side of midfield. If my memory serves me right Finnan was also told he can leave the club if he wanted to. He didn't and he fought for his place and the rest is history.

I wont argue Rafa isn't a stubborn old goat because he is but he also recognizes when he makes mistakes. Look at the players he has bought that haven't worked out he's shipped them off again pretty sharpish.

I think this season Rafa did try to go more attacking but injuries to key players has hampered him. At the start of the season we were playing some nice stuff and scored a rigth few goals.
We then hit a bad injury spell were we lost so many attacking players it was hard to keep any sort of team together. If everyone was match fit I think Kewell, Gerrard and Torres would play the majority of matches as will Babel when he finds his feet.

of course they should hang their heads in shame for even suggesting rafa should be sacked on the basis of a few games that we failed to win(or lose)
Yeah but that quote has nothing to do with anything that goes on in games, previous game or not.

The point is, whether or not Rafa loves us and the club is academic, it's whether he brings success that will determine his future.

I'm not sure you're getting it.

EVERYONE thinks their opinion is 'right' - otherwise they wouldnt have that opinion.

You wouldnt say "Well i think Crouch is better - but i actually think i'm wrong in that opinion"

Wise up mate, nobody goes around expressing an opinion that they consider to be 'wrong'

Crouch refused to sign a contract extension at the start of the season (and still hasn't signed), which no doubt was reflected in his piss poor performances. Also probably explains why Rafa is reluctant to play him from the start. If he's not going to show any loyalty then we should get rid before he runs his contract down (just over 18 months left...and counting)

what is it with people wanting to appear uninterested in how rafa does and rather how the club does, while at the same time appearing to think their better than the rest of us because we back rafa to the hilt?

the smugness is so obvious and hilarious

which he has brought us and which makes the argument for him to be sacked so ****ing ludicrous.

Preseason is bollocks all mate, i dont care about the rotterdam cup or other ****e like that.

Crouch was by far our best striker last year and even in the few games he's had this season, he's done more than Kuyt and Voronin put together.

He scores goals, he keeps possession, he gives us an outlet, his touch is good, he can link the play and defenders hate playing against him.

                        He's infinitely better than Kuyt.
No he's not. He is playing better than Kuyt at the moment, for sure.
Nah. He won't win the Prem. You can quote me on that. - Sarb24

Blind allegiance to Rafa in return for 2005 won't be good for our long-term prospects if, and it's only an if, he's not the man we need to deliver 19.

There are green shoots of a return to playing something resembling attacking football, going on the last two or three games, but we still have some way to go I think. I hope the return of Kewell, Alonso and Agger gives us an extra 10% because IMHO we are only in the title race statistically and mathematically at the moment, and not on the basis of the quality of our football. It IS getting better though and if Rafa at least goes close to the title this year, continues to sign players that make an immediate impact instead of collecting more potential players and our football style further evolves along attacking lines, then I'll be happy enough that we're ready for a massive push in 2008/09.
I think you'll find that only statistics and mathematics count as to whether teams are in the title race. "Quality of football" - whatever the frigging hell that means - is completely irrelevant
