rumour has it rafa asked carson to let one in so our one england player will get the rest he deserves after the season
"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.

"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

Maybe Martin O'Neil has seen him play more than once and recognises that he's a young, very talented keeper who could develop into a top player.

Or maybe that one game will change his mind but I doubt it

          Give the lad a break.

Ive just offered to give him a break

Believe it or not my post was tongue in cheek

And my wish to get top dollar for him is, believe it or not, based on seeing him in more than one game

carson is nothing more than a good shot stopper(normally) similar to sander, james and all the other keepers we have had in the last years.

He is a good premiership keeper, there are very few world class all round keepers around luckily we have the best.

He has no command over his area whatsoever. A typical english goaly if you like. Just stand on your line and hope reflexes pull you out the ****.

                  Not for me thanks

6M for Pepe Reina - another great bit of business by Rafa.

will look great in a **** team, saving loads of shots.
My wednesday supporting friends hailed him as the best keeper they had ever seen.....but when comparing to kevin pressman doesnt really say a great deal

I thought he should’ve been quicker off his line and more decisive with that challenge with the Croat and Lescott. Reina would have completely cleaned that out.

He should’ve saved the 3rd IMO and his kicking was piss poor – he kicked a couple straight into touch.

He’s got LOADS to work on if he’s ever to become a top keeper, in my opinion. Fine when he has to make instinctive saves, but if he has to think about anything for more than half a second, he’s ****ed.
I think you are harsh about the third goal - he couldn't have seen it until late, for me Campbell (I think it was) should have blocked it rather than turning sideways. Other than that I agree he has a lot to work on, but I think he has a lot to work with too.

He was just very nervous - first competitive international at Wembley in a make-or-break game. Whoever threw him into it must have been a right idiot who was ready to gamble with a kid's career for the sake of his own.
I totally agree with the second comment. Having backed Robinson up until now it was an odd decision. I feel he should have been given a chance earlier though, but it is easy to argue that most of the games rexcently have been make or break.

I can see what you are saying with the first comment but James is, at times, a complete loon and is probably not a yard stick we should use to judge other keepers. I'm completely willing to give Carson the benefit of the doubt as a keeper and to write off yesterday as an abheration due to nervousness but I still think currently he lacks the level of supreme concentration that the very top keepers (like Reina and Cech) have.

Agreed. Even after considering his howlers (blue****e in particular).

The fact that he's even considered as a possibility to represent England in goal says alot on the state of goalkeeping in England. In my lifetime, its never been worse.

I've never rated Carson. He f**ks up far too often. Whenever he played for us I shat myslef because he was so prone to cock ups. I feel sorry for the lad because letting in a goal like that during a crucial game at Wembley must have killed him .......but sympathy should not hide the fact that he's not as good as many think he is. It's shocking that Villa are ready to pay 10 million for him. As i've said before, it would unquestionably be the greatest sale in our history.
