The reporter seems to be siding with hicks and gilette, which i find really stupid, you can't decided on your transfer targets 2 weeks before the window opens, even if it does depend on CL qualification, they can still set out a budget with and without it, and then give the team the impetus to qualify for the later stages

Is it graceful from a manager to complain in the press all the time about the owners' lack of support? Especially when they gave you £50M to buy Torres and others to make the best LFC side in a decade..

Disappointed with the Americans for feeling the need to release these statements to the press but I'm very disappointed with Rafa.
He never stops complaining that he hasn't got enough money. Maybe he should have joined Chavski or Madrid then, we haven't got a bottomless pit of cash and ULTIMATELY, all this money comes from the fans pockets.

I don't want LFC to be like Chavski, I'd rather we were like Arsenal, spending money wisely, improving players we already have and playing attractive football.

If Rafa needs 40-50 million a year to compete, maybe he's not the manager we thought he was.

£20m net or maybe £30m if you count in Kuyt which shouldn't be done because that £10m was probably included into the price for the club.

The yanks do not understand the system and how it works. They are more used to player drafts and such rather than the ruthless law of the jungle football transfer market. Thay are also looking at the exchange rate and thinking fu#k me are good players worth that much?

To you and paulc, Gillett has gone on record several times saying that the budget was player specific, they have always refused to give a #.

BTW We don't get this years CL revenue till next year. So going out should make no difference to this years budget.

TBH with the credit crunch, stadium funding etc, It would be difficult to give and stick to a # but for good sake keep the information flow between managers going so that they can make the best decision given current constraints.

Firstly, what Gillett says in public isnt what i necessarily always deem to be the truth. The americans had a lot of PR to get right since they came, so they'll say what it takes. Pinch of salt material in the extreme.

As for the budgets, whether we get it this year or not, it still affects budgets and if the owners are concerned at losing out on £20m + then they WILL adapt budgets, and IMO they'll do this ASAP.

Agreed on the communication point, doing things through the press is an utter disgrace.

League Number 1 this year and Rafa has proved that he can win the Champs League.

Give him the money all of them shut the **** up and be as a team Liverpool and the fans are the most important we are sick of this **** at this stage
