    easy right
"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.

"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

Disappointed with the Americans for feeling the need to release these statements to the press but I'm very disappointed with Rafa.
He never stops complaining that he hasn't got enough money. Maybe he should have joined Chavski or Madrid then, we haven't got a bottomless pit of cash and ULTIMATELY, all this money comes from the fans pockets.

I don't want LFC to be like Chavski, I'd rather we were like Arsenal, spending money wisely, improving players we already have and playing attractive football.

If Rafa needs 40-50 million a year to compete, maybe he's not the manager we thought he was.
just bcos the yanks have the money it doesnt mean they have to give it everytime rafa starts moaning. rafa's conduct at PC was totally uncalled for . threatening is quit is hardly the way to move foward. he did it once after the CL finals ...he got his way that time .but you tell me which owner can tolerate such behaviour time and time again. the way i see it rafa is covering his own mess . the yanks have every right to tell rafa off especially when he started the whole damn thing in public

And I agree that the Yanks should shut the f*ck up but I also think Rafa shouldn't contsntly be challenging the Yanks in the press.

I'm starting to look at Citeh with envy. Thaksin doesn't open his mouth, yet provide Sven with as much cash as he wants. (Just for the record I would never ever want Thaksin or anyone like him to take LFC over but he's doing it the right way).

If what I think is true then I'm sort of with both of them. I think the problem is communication, plain and simple.

From the owners' point of view - they are just about to complete negotiations over re-financing, and funding the new stadium, and we don't know yet whether we will be in the champions league or not. Both of these will have a huge impact on the cashflow over the next year, and both will be settled by the time they come over for the United game. So, surely it makes sense to wait until then before talking about exactly how much will be available in January? The window doesn't open until January, Mascherano's future does not have to be decided in the next fortnight, and Rafa might get a very nice surprise when they get the chance to talk to him properly in December, if the financing has been sorted and we are in the knock-out stages.

From Rafa's point of view - we have a team that is on the verge of greatness that needs one or two key signings in January to continue to push for the title. We also need to take action quickly to secure Mascherano who is getting pissed off with the delay in offering him a deal. He wants reassurance that he will be totally backed, and feels entitled to that backing based on his performance to date at the club.

Both probably want the same thing for the club. The problem is that the lines of communication are crap, and Rafa is not getting the reassurance he needs that the yanks will back him.

Tony Barrett is right in his Echo article - they need a meeting fast to thrash out these issues and clear the air rather than letting this drag on for another two or three weeks.

They want to see if we're going to qualify for the knockout stages of the CL first, which Rafa should have ensured before the last 2 weeks in December if he'd prepared the teams optimally.
This years CL revenue will go into NEXT years budget.

This years budget is based on lasy years CL + TV money etc etc.

These numbers are already known! Face it. They are dicking Rafa around.

rafa came out and said about 6 weeks ago that we still had £25m in the kity for january transfers. Something has happened to put that money into question and now he wants to know what is going on.

                that's completely normal

                    Red Chilli.

Surely the Liverpool board should plan for every eventuality? There should be a plan in place if we don't qualify for the last 16 of the CL and there should be a plan if we do, hell there should be a plan if we get relegated. It's seems this is something they haven't done. I can't blame Rafa for wanting to know how much he's got either way. He's pissing in the wind and can't do his job. He wants to improve the squad in Jan yet he has know idea what players he can go after if any. This should all be sorted months before a transfer window as we all know it can take months to sort transfers out. Rafa could be looking at one player but have more money available for someone better and vice versa.

But the stadium costs have spiralled. Surely this has to impact on the club's finances. It's not as simple as "transfer budgets" you have to look at the club as a whole and we're comitted to the new stadium. All future budgets have to be adaptable.

Yes, I'm sure there are plans in place but the plans are multifactorial. What if we lose our next 3 league games and get knocked out of the CL. Then things are different to if we won our next 3 league games but got knocked out of the CL.

What do you want the owners to say to Rafa? Lose the next 3 league games and go out of the CL and you get **** all but win them all and you get 30 million?
                          How is that useful?

                              Aye.

Rafa needs to sell some squadies imo, to raise the cash he wants.

Sure, it's complex, but not insoluble. There is no excuse for being in the position of deciding expendtiures 2 weeks before you spend them. We're not a bloody corner store, where we have to run to the ATM to see what our bank balance is.
