If we finish 3rd far behind the champions, theres a good chance he'll leave.
I think he will resign before being sacked. He's cleverer than Houiller.

He's looking at £6m if he's sacked. Nothing if he walks. I know he isnt money motivated, but still...

no one said anything about being far behind the champions, you said if he finishes anything less than 2nd, then he'll be sacked, what if there's only 3 points in it. You can't go round making baseless assumptions and then expect to be taken seriously.

Also why would he resign and do himself out of a hefty pay off, thats a little naive dont you think

I cant think of any other reason, apart from them waiting to see what income will be due before they commit to the amount of outlay.
What I think has happened is that due to the cost of credit they are looking to suck money back out of the business (i.e. what had been budgetted for transfers) to minimize their costs.

            Possibly.

But given the funds they have to deal with, i doubt a £20m or £30m transfer outlay will make much of a difference.

Ok 3rd, 3 points behind, which is hugely unlikely, might get him another year. Id say 10 points or more behind and he's gone. Is that ok for you?

not really, i don't see it as hugely unlikely and would wager it'd buy him more than 1 year, a 3 point gap would be a massive acheivment

even 10 points is not as big a gap as it has been and would ultimately show progression, so it's hard to say

If that were the case why not just give the money to Rafa and let him get on with his job???????

Because they might have been depending on that kinda income from the CL.

And in the context of the cost of borrowing hundreds of millions of pounds, £30m doesnt matter. That's what i was referring to, in response to your point on the credit situation.

                      Progression?!?
Finishing 10 points behind would be progression? we finished 9 points behind 2 years ago...
Out of the CL in december and then 3rd 10 points behind and you'd be happy?!?
That would be a disastrous season imo.
Well, we have fundamental different views about our club Morph.

                            How?

£30m isnt a big issue when you've got maybe half a billion borrowed.

And likewise, if you're talking about the cost of CREDIT, then my point stands. Your previous point was about the cost of credit, wasnt it?

didn't say i'd be happy did i, why do people insist on making assumptions all the time, but anyway if i'm doing my maths right we finished 21 points away last season, so roughly halving that to 10 would be a 50% improvement, what we did 2 seasons ago is not relevant now imo, but getting back to that stage at least would be nice
