Rick Parry is like a piss with no steam.

He should be liasing between the americans who dont know about football and the guy who does - Rafa.

Instead when the going gets tough Rick buries his head under the pillow. As much as I dont like Peter Kenyon He's a much better CEO than Parry and does a much better job for chelsea.

I think Parry is only doing transfer business now and Foster doing the other CEO things if I remember things right.

Maybe Lec or someone else know how the set up at the club is now.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Its more to do with his general approach to things. As the CEO of Liverpool he should be in charge of the whole operation and both the rafa and hicks statements should have been controlled by him. All these things should be talked about behind closed doors and not out via the media.

All strong leaders never let their businesses become the laughing stock of their respective industries and im sure that arsenal, chelsea and man u are probably pissing themselves looking at this.

Parry should be the one sitting down with Rafa and telling him the exact state of his financial budget and what that budget depends on ie champions league qualification and that for example if we qualify you will have £25m but if you dont we will only be able to provide £15m but at least communicate with the man.

If he had told Rafa this then im sure he wouldnt have come out and said what he said in the media. That is the last resort and a sign of frustration from Benitez.

That is how I know Parry is not doing his job properly.

            Found him:

‘Time for us to pull together’
Nov 24 2007 by Tony Barrett, Liverpool Echo

RICK PARRY today called on Liverpool’s players and staff to put all off field problems behind them and to concentrate on getting a positive result against Newcastle United.

It has been a difficult 48 hours at Anfield following Rafa Benitez’s much publicised fall out with American owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett.

But Parry insists the time has come for the focus to return to events on the pitch, particularly with Liverpool facing a demanding run of games heading into December.

He said: “We need to focus on events on the pitch and nothing else, starting with today’s game against Newcastle.

“Next we have another big game against Porto in the Champions League so we are in the midst of a string of important games and we just need to focus on events on the pitch, which has always been the Liverpool way.”

Benitez suffered a major blow ahead of today’s trip to the north east when Daniel Agger was deemed not fit enough to travel.

The Danish defender has been building up his fitness at Melwood after suffering a broken metatarsal in early December but the Newcastle game has come too soon for him.

Sami Hyypia is now certain to keep his place in central defence alongside Jamie Carragher.

Javier Mascherano’s late return to Merseyside after being on international duty with Argentina in Colombia means Benitez will leave it until the last possible moment before making a decision about whether he is in the right condition to start the game.

Mascherano only arrived back on Merseyside yesterday afternoon following a gruelling 14 hour flight and Benitez must decide whether to take a risk on the Argentinian or to leave him out, with both Lucas Leiva or Momo Sissoko coming into contention.

Harry Kewell is also in with a chance of starting his first game of the season for Liverpool having completed 90 minutes for Australia in their recent friendly against Nigeria.
Dreams come true. Without that possibility, nature would not incite us to have them.
            John Updike

My son Foster is a fan of soccer. He was a goaltender. His brother was a defenseman.

Rafa had just spoken to Hicks prior to his TV interview,Parry could not stop him from being sarcastic on TV.

Likewise, nobody can Stop Hicks shooting his mouth off.

              Blaming Parry is ridiculous.

Rubbish mate. Nothing (other than a bit of common sense) and nobody could have stopped either party from making these statements.

Parry can't control what Rafa says and I can't see him telling his bosses what to do.

There was an official statement issued after the match this afternoon:

Liverpool FC today tried to quell the speculation surrounding the future of Rafa Benitez after his well-publicised row with co-owner Tom Hicks. Immediately after the 3-0 win against Newcastle United when quizzed by the waiting press and media about Rafa's future, spokesman Ian Cotton issued this official statement:

                    "Hello."
There is a light that never goes out. RIP Alan "Mally" Johnston and the 96. YNWA.

How many bloody airmiles do you think Mascherano has?

OMFG - Parry in charge of transfers

                            Rafa will walk.

"We had a meeting the day of the Arsenal game and the meeting was really positive.

"After that meeting, something changed. I tried to explain my ideas, but they said to me 'Rafa, keep focussing on coaching and training because Rick Parry will be in charge of buying and selling players'.

"I tried to explain to them and now, it is simple: they say, 'Keep focussed and Mr Parry will keep working in the transfer market'."

Calm down he wont walk. That doesnt mean Parry will sign who he feels. It means Rafa has been told that Parry will try to get Rafa's targets for him
