Why do you say that mate?Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.
* After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

Parry's role nowadays doesn't seem very clear.
I defo think between this episode of Rafa losing it a bit, and also the one after Athens, that Rafa doesn't\can't\won't work with him, and sees him as not needed.
I think the problems are that Rafa and him barely work together at all, which can only make matters worse when trying to deal with new owners who are rarely in the country, and who seem to look favourably on Parry as their go-between.
I think eventually something will give, and as someone else suggested elsewhere, either Parry or Rafa will leave the club.
Rafa doesn't seem to have any faith in him being able to negotiate for what he wants in terms of players in\out, and I reckon he's tried to take on this himself, the G and H have let him know that Parrys still the man for transfer stuff and this has caused the latest problems.
So, while at the moment the problem is being portrayed by media as Hicks v RAfa, I think it really starts and is caused by the breakdown between Rafa and Parry.
Before takeover and Rafas outburst after Athens, both rafa and parry seemed quick to big each other up in public statements.
Maybe I'm paranoid, but these type of complimentary comments from each about the other are non-existant now.
Just suggests things have become completely unworkable between them.

But wasn't this exactly what appointing Foster Hicks /Gillett* supposed to avoid. Their man on the spot with easy access to the money men back in the 'States?
Even he's forked off, apparently

I heard *rumours* of Mr.Parry badmouthing Rafa in the US.Originally posted by bazza76 View PostWhy do you say that mate?
I have no idea if this is true or not, and that's why I said I'm not sure if he does have great faith in Rafa.Just when I discovered the meaning of life, they changed it

If you were going to have a go at AFII just use his name, the clues are a bit obvious anyway.Originally posted by Rocket View Posti haven't laughed this much in years, there are probably about 15/20 different individuals responding to this thread, and i wonder how many actually have a clue at what being a chief executive involves? or for that matter, know what parry does?

First some people moan when I don't use IMO and then they moan when I use it.
Sometimes life is very confusing.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

But then, isn't your question really "What does the CEO of any football club do?".Originally posted by DJS View Post
Possibly why i was ASKING what he does, as opposed to making accusations, wild or otherwise.
Just because Peter Kenyon has a high media profile, all lfc fans seem to expect Parry to have one too. How many ceo's, not chairmen, football ceo's, can anyone here name (without cheating), let alone say what their jobs entail?Last edited by MrMichael; 26-11-07, 04:48 PM.I could not dig, I dared not rob:

I think Parry wants him out as well.Originally posted by tomasjj View PostI wonder why Parry is so silent.
If he is a part of this, since Rafa has stepped onto his turf.
I mean, what on earth could be a strong enough motivation for Parry to out Rafa and set the club back for years!?
In fact IMO I think Parry is the main man behind this.**** OFF HICKS AND GILLETT WE DON'T WANT YOU.

I mean, what could be possibly worth setting us back a couple of years when it is starting to click?

Parry is an employee, so he would look out for his job, with his fat salary. It's justifiable, but Liverpool FC is no ordinary business.Originally posted by tomasjj View PostBut at what price!?!
