Ok, he'd bring the wrong kind of headlines but it would do two things for us I think :-

    1) Win us the league.
    2) Piss off the Mancs and Chavs.

How can you say those two points wouldn't have us all celebrating? Rafa is a fantastic manager if not baffling at times but if you call out your boss, sooner or later he'll call your bluff. Rafa has being doing this since he joined us. Every single transfer window he's made the thinly veiled threats about leaving if he's not backed and sooner or later it's gonna come back and bite him in the arse. This alone isn't the Liverpool way as we don't wash our dirty linen in public and i'm surprised Montse hasn't pointed this out to Rafa. As an employer myself I know it's not good to have to back down to an employee and i'd rather lose that employee than lose face with the others.

Just my two penneth (not that it means anything).
It's the bad things he drags with him that make him a very bad choice.

He order his team to dive, cheat and bully the refs for example. Can you imagine Carra in the dressing room when Maureen tells him to do that?
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Just like any newspaper story, mate, I wouldn't put to much weight behind it and take it as gospel. Deals are only done when they're done.

Well ,lets face it, one of the things we always felt kept hin here was that he was allowed to do his job his way without interuption or being slated in the press like he could be at Madrid...that doesn't seem to be the case anymore.

Madrid's his team, that's who he supported as a kid, and I've no doubt that one day, whether it's in 2 months or 2 years, he'll be their manager.

He would probably take a few of our players with him, like Alonso, Mascherano and Reina

I wouldn't worry, mate, they're on huge contracts and would worth a fortune. He never bought any Valencia players when he came here, did he? Well, other than Pellegrinho but he was a free.

              Sissoko for £5m.

Alonso is his brain on the pitch and everyone knows how much he want Masch to sign for us and that means that he rates him very highly.

If Rafa joins Real then we will probably see Alonso and Mascherano play for Real very soon. They won't have any problem to pay what MSI want for Masch and what we want for Alonso.

Yeah, fair enough. What I meant though was that he never brought in Baraja, Albelda, Ayala, Aimar etc...

I think we would be safe because the new manager, whoever it would be, would no doubt ask the players to give him a season and see how things progress. If they did still want to leave then there's no point keeping them anyway.

Hopefully Riise's gone long before then.

It sounds like when he was asked about Atletico then he didn't exactly turned them down.

Atletico Madrid coach Aguirre admits interest for Liverpool's Xabi
                              tribalfooball.com - November 24, 2007

Atletico Madrid coach Javier Aguirre admits they're interested in Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso.

Aguirre said: "Alonso is a big player and very important to any team because he helps defenders and also links with the attack.

"Today this type of player is almost unique and very valuable for a club."

Alonso admitted: "I have heard about the rumours involving Atletico and maybe Barcelona too but, formally, I know nothing.

"My objective is to be 100 per cent fit for the decisive moments to come in both the Premier League and Champions League.

"I also want to play for Spain at Euro 2008 so want to get the necessary minutes on the field."
