Djimi Traore is a Champions League medal winner. What's your point mate?

he was a joke in the first half but did improve noticeably in the second half, however if i were to list our CM's in order of preference then he'd be bottom, and when Alonso is fit, he shouldn't be able to get in the team - i'd like to keep hold of him BUT rotation doesn't appear to do him any favours, i think the main reason he played so well in his first season was because he played all the time, he hasn't played regularly since that first season and thus can't settle. This means he's not the best player for Rafa's rotation system and not the best player for us. So imo I think we should sell to the highest bidder, for our sakes and his.

Basically, when all our midfield are fit. Momo is the less skilled and technical of the lot. Some games need a player like momo to chase around for 90 mins harrassing the opposition. Today was not one of them games!

Momo works like a trojan and his great asset is of course his ability to break up the opposition's play. Against that his passing and control is very poor for an LFC player. Do his strengths outway his weaknesses. Not for me and if £10m is on offer come Jan or in the summer, its than you and goodnight for Momo at LFC

i believe any decent player who could have occupied traore's place would have been a winner. the rest of the team did the business for him that year. as far as i remember he was absolutely rubbish till the last match he played for us....now that simply doesnt apply when it comes to gattuso and milan.

gattuso is no xabi alonso ...i dont think anyone in milan expects him to be spraying 40 yard passes accurately. the guy just keeps it simple. he wins the ball and then completes the play by either passing it to kaka or pirlo...its as simple as that. and to play in most matches for milan surely says something of his worth to the team. its actually kinda dumbfounding that you are actually comparing him to momo

I think you're confusing yourself mate. Momo plays for LFC. Are you saying that the team he plays for isn't comparable to Milan?

Well I've got news for you we've beaten the in one CL final and should have beaten in them in another in the last 2+ years.

Momo is excellent at doing what you just described Gattuso as being great at and he plays for us.

Seriously mate, we support all our players on the pitch but there really is nothing wrong with praising or being critical of a players performance. Momo's not a good enough footballer, he never will be. He must be the worst passer of the ball in the squad and for a midfielder that's not a good thing. He got better as the game went on but his first half performance against a rubbish Newcastle midfield quartet was appalling. We can't afford to play him against Porto, we will need to retain possession and Momo unfortunately would be too much of a liability.

seeing how momo doesnt sit as a holding mid, he plays further up the pitch in a 'creative role' (lol) we would be so much better with a creative talent who can feed the strikers or score themselves.

momo seems to just run around and tackle what im sort of saying is that he's nothing special and cant really play technical football at the highest level, we would be much better off selling him and buying another creative quick midfielder in the elano/diego mould who can create chances and actually play quick passing football.

thats what i don't get - why does he play further up the pitch than the other central midfielder?

anyway, since he's first season we now have masch and lucas. both are far better and if for no other reason than that he should be sold.

Great lad, not good enough for Liverpool.

Rafa will probably also need the money we can get for him.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I have to say it frustrates me when people still suggest Masher and momo compete for the same spot. Xabi and Masher fight for the same spot unless Rafa wants 2 DM. Momo is box to box and SG is AM/box to box.

Rafa even came out and said as much and that is where they play on the pitch. It's not hard.
