    Home and Away...

It seems more and more the case that winning at home is proving harder, not just for us, but for several of the top sides.

Lesser teams go to places like Anfield and Emirates, sit deep, keep it tight and stop the home side from playing. We certainly know how difficult it's been to win at home and Arsenal have left it very very late on a few occasions already this season.

Away from home it's been easier, with the home onus leaving sides playing a higher line and allowing more space and that's a big reason why we've been so good away from home.

We'll always control most of the games, we'll always have plenty of the ball and will create chances, but away from home, we create more because teams allow us to push onto them more higher up the park.

It just shows you how important it is to take your chances, especially in the home games where, bizarrely, you might find yourselves getting less good chances than you do on your travels.

Was it always like this? I dont remember it being so much easier away from home than at home.

We must get our home form sorted now, the race is more open and we're in amongst it. Two wins in the next two games are crucial, Bolton at home and Reading away. Six points would put us in a healthy position going into the mancs game.

Was expecting pics of nubile Australian girls with troubles no other kids could possibly cope with.
You can agree with me, or you can be wrong.

I think more teams are tactically aware. In the past teams froze on reputation alone when going to the big grounds. Now with Anfield not being the fortress it once was managers are working on tactics to contain and as least leave with a point. As to our away form I think that is merely down to quality play this season.

I dont think we've played that differently at home, to how we've played away from home.

The difference has been we're given more time and space in away games and have cut through teams. At home, they're not concerned with scoring or winning, so it's far more congested and difficult to score.

That's a fair point. Add to it that most of these teams also have experienced internationals in their line up, who can raise their game for the high profile encounters. Again though, this would never have come up last year when we were great at home and winning nothing away.
I'm playing all the right notes. Not necessarily in the right order. I'll give you that, sunshine.

I think there's also an argument for the quality of teams we've played home v away, but i do agree that we struggle to break teams down who just come to anfield and sit back, we do play better when teams come at us.
