Where is the best place to park for the game lads??
I normally come up on a coach but am going to be driving this time ... any advice would be greatly appreciated. One lad had told me Pinehurst Ave. which is one of the side streets off Utting Ave.
I'd just like to sound a word of warning before this game. I think most of us on here are grossly underestimating Porto, much like England fans and pundits underestimated Croatia.
I watched higlights of Porto's home against Marseille this morning and Porto was superb going forward. They keep the ball so well and in Quaresma, Lisandro and Sektioui they have three really dangerous players. Sektioui in particular was fantastic against Marseille, he has good skills, holds the ball up well, and he scored a brilliant solo goal against Marseille. Lisandro knows how to find the back of the net if given a sniff. Quaresma is their talisman and will be a big threat on the break. Lucho Gonzalez (who scored against us in Oporto) is also a player who I really rate.
I fully understand eveyone on heres need to vent given the events of the past week. I cant wait to see the special atmosphere we will all create tonight. I acknowledge the huge boost it will give our players. I fully expect us to play out of our skin tonight and put on a truly memorable performance. But Porto are not Besiktas. I dont think they will be overawed tonight, I think they might have the ball for long sections of the match. I think things could get nervous if we dont score early on. I just dont want people to get carried away and murder them tonight, because as much as I would like another 8-0 I dont think we are going to get one tonight.

The problem for Porto is that they will face a team that's backed up against the wall. The world against us mentality usually works excellent.
Porto won't know what hit them.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.
Quaresma: I'll make Reds cry
by Ben Blackmore, 28 November 2007
Porto ace Ricardo Quaresma has taunted Liverpool’s fans ahead of Wednesday Champions League clash, telling them he intends to make them weep.
Liverpool’s European adventure will grind to a premature halt if they lose at Anfield, while a draw also means they will exit the competition if Porto beat Besiktas at home in their final game.
Quaresma is never the most popular of visitors to away grounds due to his showboating and fondness of hitting the deck, but he has given The Kop extra reason to jeer on Wednesday.
“If we play our best then we will make Liverpool fans cry at Anfield,” he said in The Daily Star.
“They will weep with despair.
“We know that a win, or even a draw, will put us into the next round. We should have beaten them in the first game at our stadium but they were lucky to get a draw.
“We are all inspired about playing at Anfield because it is such a special stadium but that it why it will be even better to win there.”
Sami Hyypia will be one of the defenders asked to shackle Quaresma and co, after Rafa Benitez confirmed Daniel Agger has suffered a setback in his recovery from a broken metatarsal.
“We need to wait on Agger. It’s a difficult situation,” Benitez said in The Guardian.
“He was taking it steady with his recovery but wanted to push it, but I told him to calm down because he was desperate to play.
“We were doing the right things and making sure we made no mistakes, but he has a small problem again and we need to wait and see if he can progress.
“It’s the same problem as before. He was much better, but the other day he felt something in the same metatarsal so we need to wait.”
Oh dear stupid thing to say by Quaresma, as if he needed to stoke the fires any more than they have been already! Sadly it does show a lack of class from him which doesnt surprise me.

I'm not sure public displays of support for Rafa are a good idea. The last thing the club owners want is to realise that their employee has more power/respect than they do. It could have a detrimental effect...
What did stevie Gerrard say about it mate, or have you been talking to him since?
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.
* After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

Side streets are ok and all, but I always manage to get on the official ones. There's one at the school just down the road from Anfield. The Petrol station near there has one too opposite Stanley Park or you can park at Goodison, although I won't recommend that one cos I had a mare parking there
