I don't think Gerrard would stay for example. He want to win the league and I don't think he would be prepared to stay to witness yet another rebuilding process.

Sacking him mid season would be a huge mistake for them and the uproar it would create would be massive. They will most likelly do it at the end of the season in the hope that by the start of the following season all the fans will have mellowed and they wont have to put up with as much stick.
