Hicks is the money man so he will have the final say even if they are equal partners.

Remember the rumour a few months ago that Hicks wanted his son involved, I think that it was at the same time Foster left back to the States.

I think that it's only Hicks that want Rafa out, not Gillett but he can't do anything if Hicks want Rafa out.

Add the rumour about that Gillett want to replace Hicks with another billionaire.

I think it's Hicks we should worry about, not Gillett, but that's my opinion.
Try to take a look here:

There the story goes, that Kraft still is interested in a PL-club. And he is though no. 700ca. on the Forbes list, so he should be able to put in a decent offer to Hicks, who is nowhere near the list (similar to Gillette). On the other hand - Gillette seems to have a strong relationship to this NASCAR-superman Ray Evernham, who migth look for investment somewhere else, as he want to take some money out of his investment in motorsports - and he has tried on stock with failure.

Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

IMO, Tom Hicks is the problem here not Georgie Boy. In all the interviews we see of them - not many I know - Tom Hicks come across as an arrogant cock smoker were as Gillete seems a nice, down to earth bloke. Also, if you hear what fans of their other "Franchises" think of them, Hicks is the one that the fans dislike were as with Gillete his fans seem to like him. And with the rumours doing the rounds, maybe Gillete has had enough of Hicks and only asked him to buy into the club as a last resort or at least until he could find a partner with the same views as himself.
Gillete is old school, where is word is his bond and he promised a lot of things to the people of Liverpool and beyond and wants to follow that through, ie- Not putting the club into serious debt and NO to ground share, were as Hicks seems to want to run this club into serious debt and quite possibly if push comes to shove and the money was right, he would say YES to ground share. (Sheer guesswork I know but it is how I feel.)They seem like polar opposites. This may work in Law Enforcement (Good cop, Bad cop) but I definitly think it doesnt work with business. This may be the reason we are hearing the rumours about Bob Kraft coming in, although his name has only been bandied around here as a "possible" partner.

        Anyway, roll on 16th December.

Not saying I disagree with anything you say but regardless of whether we go into debt or not surely it is the supporters who pay. Whether that be by dividend or interest. Personally I always expected the stadium to be funded by loan and anything else is not responsible. We should always be self supporting.

I expected that G&H would underwrite/guarantee the loan during the construction which is when we are most vulnerable but fear the credit crunch is making this more of a risk than Hicks (and gillett for all we know) first thought.

              Hicks has been "wiki'ed"

              [edit] Liverpool F.C.

On February 1, 2007, it was made known through the English press that he was behind a consortium along with friend and Montreal Canadiens owner George N. Gillett Jr. to complete a takeover of the English Premiership club Liverpool F.C; this takeover bid was thought to be the front runner after Dubai International Capital pulled out of the bidding[9].

On February 6, 2007, Hicks & Gillett's joint offer for Liverpool was formally accepted, valuing the club at £218.9m ($432.9m) (£5,000 per share and £44.8m in debt).[10]. This action made Liverpool the third FA Premier League club to fall under U.S. ownership, the others being Aston Villa and Manchester United. After the bid was accepted, Hicks made it clear that his top priority is silverware, and vowed to build a new stadium for the club at Stanley Park Stadium. Commenting on the offer, George Gillett and Tom Hicks said:

“Liverpool is a fantastic club with a remarkable history and a passionate fan base. We fully acknowledge and appreciate the unique heritage and rich history of Liverpool and intend to respect this heritage in the future. The Hicks family and the Gillett family are extremely excited about continuing the Club’s legacy and tradition"[11]. Despite this, Hicks has still caused some uneasiness by referring to Liverpool as the "Liverpool Reds" and a "franchise".
