It's not about stopping supporting your club , I'd support them if they were in the ****ing Conference.

It's to do with the fact that lots of lads who have been going a long time are clinging on by their fingernails to a game that they used to love but which seems to have been purposely been taken away from them.

Thatcher's attacks on the game , the advent of The Premier League , the Sky Sports generations and the general amount of money washing around the game whilst ticket prices continue to rise way above inflation have marginalised a hell of lot of "older" fans (I'm only 36 for ****s sake). But we've always clung to the notion that there was something special about our club that still regarded us as fans rather than customers. This feeling may have been incorrect and some of the younger lads may see it as overly sentimental , but if a very successful manager of Liverpool Football Club is sacked for anything other than legitimate football reasons then our club will have lost that thing that made it different.

I'm not sure I want to support just any old club. Not with money that I can ill afford to give up anyway.

He can't win though, can he? He said he would leave when Houllier was about to go and was called childish. Now he says we have to concentrate on our football and he is called unsupportive. I think he has done the right thing and am supremely confident that Gerrard is 100% behind Rafa.
