The best manager I have seen at Liverpool since Dalglish
I particularly liked the bit where he said, the fans know how much I want to stay at the club. Or something to that effect.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Nope, a thread of global warming and Rafa's influence on it and how Hicks and Gillette will be contributing to it with their air miles

        I haven't mentioned Voronin's performance yet.

        He was woeful.

We started brightly but after our goal our play closed up.

Yossi and Babel started playing too centrally, we lacked width and when Babel did get wide his crossing was generally of the lowest standard I've seen since Cisse played right-mid for some games in 2005-2006. The lad has got talent but he can be made to look very ordinary when he plays wide positions and he seems a bit lost at what to do with the final ball.

Voronin did okay but after a couple of half chances in the first half he disappeared as a goal threat completely.

Torres was magnificent, was all over the pitch, battered into all night when the long balls came, did some good stuff on the wings, pace was there from the first minute to the last.

Kewell swung the game in our favour, Crouch too as he won a lot of free-kicks before getting the goal and caused their defence to focus on him rather than Torres.

                  He was poor.

Dunphy was calling for him to be taken off the pitch on RTE before the match even started.

                  But Dunphy is a muppet.

Two ex-professionals with polarised views of our game.

Btw - My mom was Steve Finnan who was great tonight.
I'm over the proverbial moon with the result but I really think the performance was somewhere in the middle to be honest. We had good spells but also had poor spells.

I think too many players had off games today - Gerrard, Mascherano, Carragher and Benayoun were below par IMO. Voronin was quiet and Babel looked to still lack a bit of confidence.

Kewell was great when he came on although I would have liked to see Lucas come on instead of Benayoun early in the second half to shore up the midfield which looked bare at times when Porto counter attacked.

You can't moan too much with a 4-1 win though

I agree with Les, Finnan had a good game and pushed Torres for MOM.

The crowd were great tonight and Rafa's interview was class.

Now we need the yanks to show some empathy and it will happy days again.

606 was shocking, the muppets phoning in saying that Rafa doesn't know what he is doing etc. These guys should just shut up. We needed support for Rafa and not that kind of ****.

                            WTF?!?! Seriously?

These people obviously have no clue and expect galactico football week in, week out, which in reality never happens.

If Torres and Harry stay fit there really is no reason why not in my mind.
