If on the other hand the issue is more to do with transfer budgets or who does the nitty gritty in the talks then there is hope, but even then you suspect it'll be Rafa who'll have to do most of the climb downing.
It remains to be seen if they care about no.19 as much as the CL due to the financial implications. I think you are right though about the fact that some disagreements would be more harmful than others in the long run. I think that Rafa has started the backing down but the owners would be foolish to not try and take on board some of what he has to say - even if they have to take action so that Rafa does not over step the mark in public again.

Don't see anything wrong with the interview, anyone with a brain cell can see rafa is trying to build bridges here. What i find bizarre is that the silly ****s over in yankee land don't seem to be able to spare a bit of time to have a chat with Rafa, great way to run a 'business' isn't it

Trouble is I don't think G&H want to build any bridges with Rafa. All they have to do is issue a statement saying Rafa's going nowhere, its all a storm in a tea cup. But they haven't which suggests to me Rafa's position is still very very dodgy. i'm still of the opinion he won't be here next season.

If that's the same interview that he gave last night after the Porto game then his words have been twisted like **** for a better story
