Yes, if the board of directors is split then the chairman of the board has the casting vote, whoever that may be.

I don't trust the pair of them....at all.

Brilliant post Redscouser - I've always found this crisis ‘media generated’.
All G&H said was "Nothing has changed, they'll still chat to Rafa on the 16th"
That to me does not say we will be sacking him if he fails to deliver in the next 5 matches! It's saying, they've said what they wanted, and it's unnecessary for them to continue having spats through the media. Rafa had come back with another response after the Newcastle game... now if they'd responded the way Rafa did then it would start to become a problem of using the media for little spats.

Looking at Rafas interview after the match there was something of an embarrassment and awkwardness about him with his body language when he spoke about the support etc. This had me wondering if he thought his time was up and that the media were right... or maybe he was just so emotional and overwhelmed.

But now today he's ready to talk to G&H. Coincidentally, Fosters back in town
(as he was there last night), maybe he said something to Rafa or Rafa couldn't wait to get hold of him after the game or first thing in the morn... He's could have been given some encouragement from one of the owners (probably not both) to try and get them to arrive before the middle of December for transfer talks.

But to be totally honest with you all, I thought it was a good thing Hicks told Rafa to worry about training and coaching his team because we hadn't played great for a while, especially disappointing was drawing a game we were winning against Arsenal, then failing to beat Blackburn after it Man U and Arse had handed us a chance of closing the gap on the leaders. He probably knew after the international break we had some tough games coming up that go right on till the 16th December. And believe it or not we have seen a difference with the teams we've put out since the internationals.

PEOPLE, WE'RE SCORING GOALS AND WINNING BY COMFORTABLE MARGINS AND ROTATION IS STARTING TO PAY OFF TACTICALLY.

Your too good to be true, can't take the ball off you you got a heavenly touch, you pass like Sounness to rush. And when we're pissed in the bars we thank the Lord that your ours

          Isn't both of them Chairman?

          So then it's down to....

          or

Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

            or

You may be right, they may be both co-chairman. In which case I guess it depends on how many board members there are as to whether there is likely to be split decision.

Regardless of this whole debacle I have a feeling that George is the boss of their relationship, Hicks is a typical Texan and doesnt know when to shut the hell up but Ill bet that Gillette is working hard behind the scenes to sort this out. If anyone goes its Hicks in my opinion.
That said I cant see that happening anytime soon, they will smooth this over and everyone will forget this when we pick up No.19.
              So in May.

I dont know Marty. Either way I'm not happy. Balague has said that Hicks personally had been tipping off the media that Rafa was going to be sacked. The idea of sacking a successful manager mid-season when we have such a great chance of winning the league is absolutely preposterous, but if, as seems likely, these clowns have actually considered it, then it makes you seriously concerned about what muppets are actually running our club

Glass still half empty eh Tom?

I find this article intriguing for a number of reasons, primarily the tone in which it is written. "Cowboy boot messiahs"? Headlines like that don't usually lead to an unbiased dictum. Though admittedly every writer, person even has to have their own opinion, or angle, but just how has this writer arrived at his? Through xenophobic stereotypes, rumours and a few throw away quotes that have absolutely nothing to do with LFC.

Also generalizing that most Liverpool fans have been "mugs" to believe what G+T said they'd do? Really? We were mugs then to believe they'd revamp that awful identikit stadium design, and give us a state of the art new one? Mugs to believe that we'd spend more this summer than we've ever done before on players?

You know what worries me? Jobsworth cunts like this bloke believing a bull**** non-story then trying to create one by character assassination. And lets be honest here, he's been clever enough to tap into most peoples insecurities surrounding the unknown, which our new owners are, we know nothing about them so it’s easy to make up stories and pass them off as fact, because we have no previous reference. I don't know anything about Tom Hicks, so I'm supposed to believe the word of a bloke like this? Unbelievable.

Really surprised Tom that you think this is a “what we’re up against”, or maybe I’ve got it wrong and you really mean we are “up against” the lazy, uninformed speculative journalism that we’ve seen in the past week.

                  Has Rafa been sacked yet?

Listen to Balague on the Times football podcast thing. He says Hicks has personally been tipping off the media that Rafa is going to be sacked.

May be he saw sense and realised what a preposterous decision it would be to sack a manager mid-season. We all knew the writing was on the wall for Houllier during 03-04, but he wasn't dismissed mid-season, and that was the right decision. I mean if they do want Mourinho they can't appoint him until the summer at the earliest.

I don't know why Hicks has been tipping off the media that Rafa will be sacked, if indeed he has, but I dont see why Balague would lie about this.

One thing that people in Europe dont understand is the " N American" way of conducting business. Since I left blighty 16 years ago I have learned the way they think and act in their companies.
Its mind boggling how different it is than in Europe. Everything here and the US is geared towards success and making a hefty return of $$$ on a big investment.
Having said that, the owners know who is a big asset and who is not.
Our owenrs know 100% that RAFA is the man and they KNOW we are all behind him and trust you me mate they will think a thousand times before they replace him. They know replacing him will set the club and their return on investment back by at least 3 years and if they are smart business men they would want to keep RAFA.

                            This makes alot of sense.

Do you reckon Guillem got paid to appear on that webcast?

Do you think they'd have had him on if he didn't have something new to say about the Benitez situation?

See how easy it is to make assumptions and accusations without any foundation?
