I don’t really get this “global credit crunch” reason. Now, I’m not an economist but surely given the fact that the largest central banks around the globe (including the US) have, and are likely to continue, to cut interest rates the cost of borrowing is getting cheaper. These Yankes are independent billionaires. The global credit crunch bull**** has more to do with banks being afraid to lend money to other banks (no?), G&T haven’t underwritten any subprime mortages so why would it effect them? I know the price of steel and energy is sky rocketing but these prices will never come down so its probably better to spend now rather than later.
Good points.
However the dollar has weakened significantly against the pound since G&H took over which may have some bearing on their available funds.

Moores is still a member of the board so he should know what is going on.Originally posted by Dhavlos View PostTalking about Dave Usher and TLW, here's a post of his, from 24 Nov
Is Moores still on the "inside", does he know how the Americans are running the club and what plans they have? If so, and Usher is right that Moores does regret selling to them, then it's another thing he's got wrong, and I'm really worried about the future of our club. "Sold to the USA"
Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

now on talksport. one of the rumours is g&h have borrowed against the club and used some of the money to repay themselves the money they spent on buying the club in the first place. Apparently this is something that they originally said they would not do.
Strong vibes that rafa will be gone by the end of the season if not sooner.
that blue **** is enjoying every minute of it. ffs why did we sell to these american cunts. oh i know so that parry kept his job and the shareholders got a little bit more money.

The club really need come out and answer quite a few questions. We as fans are being kept in the dark and our loyalty is really being taken for granted by the powers above Rafa.
Are the Americans running scared?
Are they just playing for time?
They came in a blaze of glory waving hand fulls of dollars saying money isn't an issue and that liverpool will be the biggest club in the world.
A few prides stand to be severly dented over all this.
If there not careful, they will really see the power of the the Liverpool fans.Last edited by kop-al-74; 15-12-07, 11:09 AM.-----------------------------------------------

If there are probems around the newstadiumthey willnot sack Rafa as well, they can not afford the PR problems. If it is true it could make Rafa safer as they will not want to upset us as much.

Kop stadium plans shelved
By David Maddock 15/12/2007
Liverpool are poised to scrap plans for a new stadium after a bid to borrow £700million to fund the development was hit by the credit crunch devastating money markets.
The club's American owners George Gillett (above) and Tom Hicks will be forced to settle for a smaller loan.
That will mean an embarrassing U-turn on the proposal for a 76,000-seater arena and leave less cash for manager Rafa Benitez to spend in the transfer market.
It is not the news Benitez will want to hear as he prepares his team for their crucial Premier League clash with Manchester United tomorrow and plans for a long-anticipated meeting with the US duo on Monday.

Hicks had asked his Texan architects to rejig the designs for a replace for Anfield, with revenue generation a key element in the new £400m scheme.
But they will have to go back to an initial 60,000-seat plan or redesign again on a much smaller scale.

Well if your going to listen and believe anything you hear on Talksport you really are foolish in the extreme. Note the word rumor. The media report these rumors and dress it up as fact, lazy journalism of the worst kind. Why not wait for something from the clubs owners and Rafa before you condem them so abuseivly? So far all I see is a team playing superbly well, and great plans for the future, including a new stadium. now until I hear otherwise OFFICIALY, I'll save my rantings and suggest we all do the same.Originally posted by rage View Postnow on talksport. one of the rumours is g&h have borrowed against the club and used some of the money to repay themselves the money they spent on buying the club in the first place. The timing of this story coming out looks like the nationals have robbed it from here when all the other sites picked up on RS4 story yesterday.
With RS4 record on all matters concerning the stadium, we need to accept that this is happening. Like someone said earlier, we are being turned into a joke by these Americans. You might get away with **** like this in the USA, but not here. Worrying times lay ahead“Hicks could have purchased Dallas’ MLS franchise but decided not to. ‘In hindsight, I probably made the wrong decision,’ he said.“.
