Sorry mate, not having any of it. Think it's been blown out of all proportion, yes he threw a strop in public, but what's happened since then? Nothing. No sacking, as we were told by those "with contacts" that it was imminent.

By the way I was well within my right to have a pop at Rafa for the Reading game, I thought he binned it, picked a team/stupid formation, and we lost. I though it was bang out of order, and I'm right behind him, support him 100%, but it was a complete debacle that could've been avoided with some common sense.

And I think Kuyt isn't good enough for LFC, but unlike the criticism of the yanks, I base my criticism on what I see on the pitch, not on third hand rumours off some net wannabee, or a certain turncoat journo I could mention.

So far the yanks have done nothing wrong, have they? What have they done wrong in your opinion mate, anyone for that matter? Tell me, give me a list of transgressions. Give me facts.

Even if you can't post any pics, if you can at least give us a lowdown and confirm that the new designs are impressive and unique, then that's good enough reassurance for me. My concern is that given how bland the original AFL designs were, I dont have too much confidence in them producing anything remotely suitable as befitting a club of our standing but hopefully the HKS designs will have opened their eyes and risen the bar.

Like everybody else, I was blown away at first by the HKS design but every time I look at it now, I can't help thinking it is actually a bit of a monstrousity.

I like a lot of the ideas - particularly the Kop, the asymmetry and the transparency. If they can be incorporated into an understated design that looks more like a stadium, I think it will be a lot more befitting of our club's tradition and character.

And I partly agree.

But let's get away from the aesthetics for a moment. The important characteristics of the new stadium should be the Kop, the atmosphere and easy access to and from the stadium.

Look at the Westfalonstdion for example, looks like a concrete bunker but it's a mint football stadium in terms of atmosphere.

If I wanted to see a fancy building I'd go to the Guggenheim.

so stadium one showed too little ambition, stadium two was too yee ha american over the top, maybe stadium 3 will be the middle ground. as long as it has a single tier kop, the crowd as close as possible to the pitch and at least 70,000 seats i'm happy.

look forward to the new plans. but its clear as day that parry is playing with words and that we are no longer moving foward with the super stadium (stadium 2) design.

This to me is the important bit, along with Parry's statement that a new stadium will be built. There's no climbdown, no humiliation, we will get our stadium and if we get one for £200 million less that doesn't look quite as funky (but still has an emphasis on the Kop, as was suggested in one of RS4's original posts in this thread) then all the better. Less to pay back in the long run can't be a bad thing can it?
