Makes you wonder, if we'd be taken over by a british business man, and similar circumstances had then arisen, would there be all this vitriol aimed in said Brit's direction.

Surely were not that xenophobic on here? Surely?

like i said somewhere i'll happily wave the american flag in the kop if things work out. I don't think they will still own this club and have rafa in charge in 18 months time. I'll happily wager £100 to the kids hospital with anyone who thinks differently.

Personally I still think the HKS stadium will be built, if RS4 has info which ultimately turns out to be true than thats ok too as he has stated that the "new" stadium is a step sideways as opposed to a step back. Plus theres a £200 mill bonus in it for us!
The thing that really pisses me off is the fact that the yanks, by their actions or inactions, are allowing our great club to become a media circus. Its not for me so I hope they sell up sooner rather than later.

When a true genius appears in the world, you may know him by this sign, that the dunces are all in confederacy against him

              And I partly agree.

But let's get away from the aesthetics for a moment. The important characteristics of the new stadium should be the Kop, the atmosphere and easy access to and from the stadium.

Look at the Westfalonstdion for example, looks like a concrete bunker but it's a mint football stadium in terms of atmosphere.

If I wanted to see a fancy building I'd go to the Guggenheim.
i kind of agree with you in that the inside has to be the most impressive part.
but, if we do end up with another bowl type stadium i would rather remain where we are.
Parry is a clown. En Rafa que confiamos

Read what it says in bold above, that the design has not changed.

So because the credit crunch has not effected the design then the fact the cost has spiraled and G&H want to cut back the costs can't be possible. He has not said the design has not changed, he has said 1 specific condition has not effected it.

Nice to see I have a fan club on RAWK who think that this is just another "mate in a boozer" story. Which of course it is...

Can I just add that my mate reckons the revised plans are pretty impressive so don't think this is a climbdown or a humiliation. We will still have an impressive stadium with 70,000 seats as I said a fortnight ago...
Thanks for all the info, was only last night I was saying it may not be 100% fact and your insider had let you down because the press had not caught onto it.

I really hope/ expect it to have a single tier Kop that is massive, 4 seperate stands and the possibility to expand to high 70's and not just around 70,000. Anything else will leave us behind the scum after building a massive stadium.

Good stuff Iain glad to hear it.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

                      * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

"Liverpool owners downscaling stadium plans........." now on the newsbar at the bottom of Sky News channel.

It`s a slow news day obv.

Reading the statements coming from the club I think it's entirely possible we are not going with the HSK design we've all seen. However, that doesn't have to be the huge disaster some are making out. The comments have also confirmed we will be getting a stadium with a much bigger capacity than previously planned, and that the design will be better. It will be embarrassing to renege on the design but at the same time, if we can build the ****er for so much less just by losing a bit of cladding or whatever then that's a good thing.

I think people should wait and see what design we are going with instead (if indeed it is a different one) before they stick the knife in. I'd rather they got the right thing done in the end than spent over a hundred million more than necessary just to avoid doing a u-turn. They should have sorted all this out before they announced it, but at the moment that's the only mistake we know of with any reasonable certainty, isn't it? The press is just whipping people into a frenzy.

Also, while I'm not going to blow smoke up our owners backsides or pretend they are all goodness and light, I do think slinging **** at them when rumour aside we know of little reason to will if anything make them more likely to treat our views with disdain.

As I have said I am only concerned with a single tier Kop, a big one, the possibility of extending to high 70's and 4 seperate stands. If that is in the new design then fine but I do think they should have not shown the new plans to us if they were not sure.

"The situation in the credit markets has not affected our design, programme, or implementation of building our new stadium. The priority has always been to build a winning team on the pitch and everything else we do is geared towards that."
The club issues a clear denial, something people have been after, and you all refuse to believe it

Sometimes I think some members want it all to go wrong just so they can be right!
                              I don't need a lift, I need ammunition

Yeah. I think there should be a separate forum called "I don't care what anyone says I'm going to be negative and believe everything the tabloids say even though most sane people know its probably bull****."

Might need to shorten the title mind but all the lemmings can dive in here.
You can agree with me, or you can be wrong.
