Nice one Rick. Here is what you said a couple of days ago.
How can we trust you now?
Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I thought it was amazing looking. Would have been the best looking stadium in the world if it went ahead imoOriginally posted by Alpha View PostGood news all round.
In the cold light of day, did anybody really want that over-the-top space-aged monstrousity anyway?
It wasn't very us, was it?Contrary to popular belief, I have huge genitals.

It's all spin mate. So what he said then was "the credit crunch has not affected our design, programme, implementation of building the new stadium", and what he says today in effect is ""the credit crunch has not affected our design, programme, implementation of building the new stadium, it's actually the spiralling costs that have affected our design, programme, implementation of building the new stadium".Originally posted by tomasjj View Post"The situation in the credit markets has not affected our design, programme, or implementation of building our new stadium. I'm sick of tired of this bull**** spin. We're LFC, not the ****ing Republican Party. I thought we had a bit of dignity, pride. Didn't realise we were such duplicitous scum bags.White liquid in a bottle = Milk
Purslow = C*nt

Think you will find I was talking about the Rafa situation there but don't let facts get in the way of your posts.Originally posted by fredo View PostI'm not referring to saturdays posts, but you jumping the gun as to say (weeks ago) that we were too rash to believe what was said in the papers. I think they fairly reflected the situation, no ?

I have all along said that I trust RS4 but there could be an explenation like they were keeping their options open. I was positive because the press hadn't got it. As soon as the press got it I said we should base opinion on a staement or if non then it would be a hint. We go one and as soonnas I read it I said it meant more than likely the new design was gone.

It should be unique but not extravagant. If it holds 70,000 seats and allows us to increase it slightly and features a unique Kop, then I'd be delighted.Originally posted by Frodo View PostYep, i rather that then Riverside, Emirates, Reebok, Walkers stadium, Kingston Communications Stadium etc etc generic, one design for all stadium.
Anfield is unique, so should the new stadium be.
The most important thing is that money should be available to compete. No use building a stadium worth 24 carats if we are limited in cash for team strengthening.

Fact is we have 2 bids = competition = good for us.
If we put pressure on HKS they may be able to do better, if not we get an improved AFL one which very few were complaining about last year. I don't have a problem with because at the end of the day we need a much bigger stadium and funds for players. Doing this increases our chances and basically is good business sense, IMO.Nah. He won't win the Prem. You can quote me on that. - Sarb24

I liked it at first too.Originally posted by machiavelli View PostI quite liked it...What i did really like was the fact it was individual, unlike the the carbon copy previous design that we originally had. I feel this new design will not be an original design, but based on another football ground only slightly modified for the single tier Kop.

And then it dawned on me how ridiculously over-the-top it was.
a stadium should look like a stadium, not a shopping mall. That doesn't mean it has to be generic. Nor does it mean it can't be unique.
If the new design can strike a aesthetic balance somewhere between the previous two, I'll be very happy. It's not good because it's rude. It's good because it looks like it's good because it's rude.

Unfortunately since the Yanks came with their pomp, image consultants and B/S this seems to be the way, Parry being the slippery snake that he is fits right in.Originally posted by looprevil View PostWe have gone so far away from 'The Liverpool Way' since this takeover. Well done RP. Self preservation society lives on.
I like how they've buried this in the we love Rafa statement, just like our modern day governments of burying bad news on big news days. Also how Parry thinks 70000 is a magic number and by quoting it we the fans will get all happy. We come not to play.

Parry is just an employee now. It's clear, nothing new here. He may even be promoted to Head of Press Relations. Watch this space.Originally posted by Frodo View PostUnfortunately since the Yanks came with their pomp, image consultants and B/S this seems to be the way, Parry being the slippery snake that he is fits right in.
