It looks like they really didn't looked at our books that much or tried to make a good business plan before they bought us.
Everything seems to be have been done in a rush when it comes down to the takeover.
First we buy the club and then we take it from there.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

All I know is that both firms have been asked to revise their original plans and the board will decide which is the best option. AFL are confident because their design is a much cheaper option (up to £200m cheaper) but it may well be the Dallas firm which wins the contract.Originally posted by sonsofthedesert View PostSo what Parry is saying is true, it is a change/downscale of the HKS design. If that was the case and they apply of 60,000 with ability to expand to 70,000 then it could be possible to apply for alterations to the present planning permission?
Either way, we will end up with a different design to the original AFL 'Parrybowl' or the HKS 'Spaceship'. Because both will have a higher capacity of 70,000 I'm pretty certain we would have to re-apply (again) for planning permission as the local transport links and infrastructure would need to be improved for the extra 9,000 to 10,000 visitors. There is a light that never goes out. Does anybody give a ****e about this right now?Originally posted by rushscored4 View PostLet's wait till we see the AFL re-design or the scaled down HKS plans.
If you read both the threads you'll see that's exactly what we're doing.
I agree and said the same yesterday in the Thomas Frost!
If G & H had announced this summer that they had asked AFL to revise their plans, make it more exciting with a bigger Kop and a 70,000 capacity we would all have been thrilled. However, they proudly presented the HKS 'spaceship' design which blew us all away so now we're disappointed! It's all about managing expectations...
By the way, from what I've been told, the revised AFL design does not look like a bowl any more.
Or are people just using it as a platform/another excuse to whinge at the owners?
Because let's be honest to me they've done nothing wrong.
What would people prefer, that we build a ridiculously expensive stadium that would take years to pay for itself, or build a cheaper stadium with the same capacity. What makes sense?
The fact that some on here think they know how to run a football team better than these guys is laughable.
As Rushie says, let's wait and see what the final design they choose looks like, and even then we'll have to wait until it's built, and hosts a proper game before we know if it's any good.
Thanks for the insight RS4.

Yeah that's why I suspect they will go for 60,000 and then once that is given permission apply for the extra 10,000. It would be the quicker way of doing it.Originally posted by rushscored4 View PostAll I know is that both firms have been asked to revise their original plans and the board will decide which is the best option. @ CMS - "Because let's be honest to me they've done nothing wrong"
Bollocks, they have come in and mouthed off, promised the world and delivered **** all so far, id say any improvement has been Rafas doing and they very nearly cost us him.
Seriously fella I know you try and be all controversial on here but if you seriously think "they have done nothing wrong" then your a bigger pillock than I initially thought.
Look, Im not saying we should all now hate them and be against them every step of the way just because we want to, but id say that it was back up to those two yanks to win us all over again, because so far apart from giving it all the talk they havent walked the walk.

Will they be able to start building it based on the acceptance of a 60,000 capacity granted and then apply for it to be a 70,000 capacity when they are building it?

If they have downscaled the stadium to save the club an extra £200m of debt and we get a bigger stadium into the bargain then that's surely a good thing.
One thing I don't get though is why we even applied for planning permission for the HKS design and made a big deal about it when we knew that we couldn't afford it. Surely G&H did some research into the cost of that stadium when they were presented the final drawings for the HKS design?Babel fanclub member # 4!!!

As part of the plan HKS will have given an estimate of costs with a 10% margin of error built in (talking to the guy at the match who sits next to me - he is an architect). If the cost has jumped from £300m (the original cost quoted) to £500m (what is being talked about in press and stated by Hicks) then HKS fooked up and G&H can't be blamed for an expert company not getting costing right. This is what it comes down to as well as the cost of steel hasn't risen that much in a few months so HKS got the costing wrong.Originally posted by kurtangle01 View PostIf they have downscaled the stadium to save the club an extra £200m of debt and we get a bigger stadium into the bargain then that's surely a good thing.

Thanks for that. What will be will be I guess and we'll have t wait and see yet more new designs. No doubt planning will take an age to get aswell with the capacity rising to 70,000.Originally posted by sonsofthedesert View PostAs part of the plan HKS will have given an estimate of costs with a 10% margin of error built in (talking to the guy at the match who sits next to me - he is an architect).
