They haven't backed him. The money they spent this year was part of the re-financing deal that they are now trying to get the club to take onto their books either as part of the stadium deal or by putting on our books. They haven't spent a jot of their own money.

That is what I understand as well.
Babel and Torres were financed partially by money already in the club and new loans.

Yes it's all part of a huge conspiracy, Rafa's outburst about "focusing on coaching" was also part of this elaboratly staged conniving to make G and H look bad. Absolutely nothing is wrong with the club, the yanks aren't struggling to re-finance their loans, we're still building the super stadium they promised and rafa is completely safe. I can say this as their is no "concrete proof" to dispute it.

Either you think that this is all made up from scratch or you have to believe that someone in the club is leaking stories to papers like the telegraph and the local press.

You are of course quite within your rights to believe that's it's all the imaginings of a connected cabal of press. I would suggest otherwise.

I'm also within my rights to actually wait and see what happens; to see whether we get a new stadium, to see whether or not we sign Mascher before his loan deal expires in June, to see if Rafa is still here in August, to see what comes, rather than fearing the worst.

Or i could be really negative and believe ever rumour the gutter press spout, believe these "sources close to the club" that they keep quoting, believe a no mark like Bascombe whose close ties to Liverpool died when GH left the club.

Personally, i'll go with the first option. It's a far healthier option.

Balague said he's got his number one target, Skrtel. Besides, I think they may be waiting to get Sissoko out the door first and use that cash towards Mascher. I think this is just a sensible course of action, so I wouldn't read too much into Mascher not being signed yet.

I'm pretty sure I read that we f**ked up the loan agreement and do not have 1st option hence why Barca, Juve et al are hovering like vultures.

I think if we had messed it up, then rather than circling like vultures, someone would have stepped in with an offer already. More alledged paper talk i'd guess.

First option as far as i'm aware means we get first bite of the cherry when we meet the bid price (17 million) before the loan deal expires. If Mascher turns it down, then other clubs can try their hand, but until then we are in control.
