Opposite my favourite boozer in Manchester, The Peveril Of The Peak?

I walked past there a couple of weeks ago. I was in Manc on Boxing day for a mate's night at Circle. There's some tremendous putang in Manc these days

Just round the corner from my flat too! Rain bar is normally my local though, Peveril looks a bit too much like a toilet as you said and Rain Bar has a lovely big terrace facing the canal which comes in very handy on the 2 days of Sunshine Machester receives each year. Britain´s protection is also a top old style pub just on the corner by the Gmex

The Briton’s Protection (note the spelling :crackoff) is indeed an excellent pub. Always pop in there when I’m going to the Bridgewater Hall.

On a side note, anyone know any decent places to watch Setanta matches in Manchester city centre? The only places I know that show them are dives like Brannigans, Varsity, Chicago Rock, Hogs Head. I feel like I am going to get my head kicked in everytime I watch a Liverpool game in there.
