I am not going to slam this design.

The stadium is out and will be started soon I hope.

That is the most important thing. It looks decent enough.


This changes nothing in my stance against the owners though.
They are the wrong people.

I have to be honest and fair play to Hicks and HKS - it's a good, unique design, providing a modern home, with an excellent capacity, and at the revised costings, it makes good sense.

We might not like what is happening at the club but I don't think you can use these new stadium designs to beat our owners with. They are still impressive. IMO.

I like the profile, it's a handsome forward-looking design which is good IMHO. I am concerned about the detailing and the materials. If they look cheap the whole thing will look dreadful.

Arsenal's capacity is only 60,000 but they earn more per match than United because they've got more executive boxes which are very expensive. Capacity isn't everything. Look at the ****ing Geordies...

They are filling in the last corners soon to add a further 7,000 seats which I think takes them up to 82,000 but they would need to re-route the railway line to expand any bigger than that which would cost too much.

Is there still any chance you can get your mate to give you their designs for it. I'd be very interested to see what AFL's new designs were like. It would also be interesting to hear why AFL did not get the job.

Why?

This time yesterday almost everyone was in disgust with the americans due to a list of reasons. Now some new pictures have been released and all that has died down.

I can see this continuing, people will start to forget about all this and they will pick their moment once it has all died down and get rid of rafa.

Im not happy at all, yes the stadium looks nice but of course it does,
They want it too look good to get everyone back on their side.

It seems to be working already thats all im saying.

The original plans indicated 60k seats in the neginning rising to 76k capacity, does anyone know if this is now going to be 71k from the beginning? Surely this will take an age to get planning for, especially with new transport infrastructure to be considered

I am happy with the new design for what it's worth although a little concerned about the Kop, can't figure out if they have gone for a 2 tier version which is surprising having put so much emphasis all along on it being the catalyst for the entire stadium
