Have to say, I am concerned about the open corners, aside from the fact it looks a bit cheap, it won't hold the noise like the old anfield. I'm not convinced by this fella's design but he makes a good point about the acoustics.

My guess is that the open corners allow for further expansion down the road....

Surely the glass walls behind the open corners will reflect the sound really well. I still maintian that one of the most intimidating and loud stadiums I'e been in was Rome in '84, and it didnt have a roof!!!

It's difficult to tell really. The emirates doesn't seem to contain the sound with its rounded corners, but maybe that's just the size of the stadium. It has probably got a lot to do with structure and materials too. I would have thought that big gaps would have stopped a lot of the sound moving around the stadium though just from a human perspective.

AFL designs at first glance are very impressive. I wonder why they have put them up on the site if they didn't get the contract?

Just a thought on the AFL designs. It has been said on here that they have done a lot of work for the sheikh. Is it possible that DIC haqve told them that if they buy LFC the contract is theirs hence publicising the plans to gauge public opinion? TBH having looked at both sets of plans I think AFL's looks more impressive?

I'm not sure, maybe its just a "look at what we can do " type of thing, do you think this is worth a thread of its own? not sure it will get the type of exposure on this thread...

they look ****ing ****e. no imagination at all. i'd be absolutely gutted if they'd been revealed as the new plans, would have been a huge step down.

                      I prefer the AFL design.
It's not good because it's rude. It's good because it looks like it's good because it's rude.

It's actually not to dis-similar to their original Parry Bowl. They've added a bit of glass and the dual arches, also the single tier kop, but it's actually quite similar to their first plans.

Still a nice looking stadium though.

Ye pop into a "new AFL design" thread for the exposure. Everyone will want to see the new design

I also prefer the HKS one, the kop on the AFL is just a continuation of the bowl...
