Spot on mate, inside it is still far too bowl-shaped and souless.Originally posted by RedProf View PostAgreed. I still prefer the HKS one - it is more unique imo and has more character.
Credit to AFL as their images do portray their updated version in a good light. It is definitely still based on their origanl Parry bowl design though. But it has been revamped and I especially liked the glass Kop element. The empty seat view image however, did make it still look like a souless bowl. Although conversely with the fully seated image, it did look quite impressive, especially the Kop (more so than the Kop on the HKS one as it has empty corners next to it?).
Not a fan of the arches either, bit of a Wembly rip off, and totally functionless and pointlessWhite liquid in a bottle = Milk

I wholeheartedly agree with you and and your other posts above. I'd hate to be stuck with even the revised AFL stadium. It's just the same old bland design just slightly refined. It was a bad design to begin with, they should have ripped it up and started from sracth.Originally posted by Skullflower View Posti think the hks stadium will age very well. i'm only just starting to fully appreciate what a brilliant design it is. and that is partly down to seeing these afl pictures.White liquid in a bottle = Milk

Yes I agree. Didn't the arches use to be 4 pointed tower things in the last design?Originally posted by Dhavlos View PostSpot on mate, inside it is still far too bowl-shaped and souless.

The AFL design reminds me of Ashburton Grove from the outside and the Dragao (Porto) on the inside.
None of this is good by the way.
Plus "The Kop" written on the outside, very tacky. And those big screens can **** off. Last thing we need is cunts with ****** hats on turning up hoping to be on the big screen.I hate Polanski

Yep I thought the same when I saw the "Kop" written in giant red capitals on the stand. Almost like it was branded - ffs we grew up with Liverpoool we dont need to be told it's the Kop. Smacks very much of appealing to the day tourists.Originally posted by CharlieMansonsSquint View Post

Yep, the last design with the towers reminded me of a mosque.Originally posted by RedProf View PostYes I agree. Didn't the arches use to be 4 pointed tower things in the last design?
Absolutely. They did a poor job of capturing the essence of Liverpool and the Kop, although from the inside view with the stand full it does look impressive. Surprised that it's been reported that Parry, Gillett et all were unanimously in favour of the AFL design while only Hicks wanted the HKS one, which is clearly superior in my eyes and has been almost universally praised by all reds fans I know.Originally posted by CharlieMansonsSquint View PostThe AFL design reminds me of Ashburton Grove from the outside and the Dragao (Porto) on the inside.

hicks is right. if built, it will be the most unique football stadium in the world. it's stunning, classy, intimidating and like nothing else. let's hope DIC feel the same way about it.Originally posted by Dhavlos View PostI wholeheartedly agree with you and and your other posts above. The major part of this is the "If Built" thing, until we're sitting inside it singing our hearts out to a team in red on the pitch I'll have my doubts!

It's no different. The signs are currently on the wall outside the ground and this design is no different.Babel fanclub member # 4!!!

Dunno, maybe its just the way the image was made up, or maybe the way it appeared when sitting behind a wall of glass, perhaps akin to a neon sign in some glitzy trendy bar. It just didnt look right to me when I saw it. Others may not see that at all. Everyone sees things differently I suppose.Originally posted by kurtangle01 View PostWhat about the 'Kop' signs that are on the outside of the stand at Anfield?

I think each stadium has its own strong points.
I do not like the kop on the HKS design, despite the extra 5,500 odd seats, the split in the middle of the tier just ruins it.
The more I think about it, the more I think it is what is inside the stadium that counts, not what it looks like on the outside.
I like the AFL kop more.Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.
* After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs
