Some Celtic fans claim to have sung You`ll never walk alone in 1958.
It`s a song from the musical "Carousel" which Gerry and the Pacemakers covered in 1963.

I have a few reasons why i greatly dislike Celtic.
For starters Cletic fans around here annoy the **** out of me with the way they think they're adopted Glasweigans, honestly they do. Also the Pro Celtic graffiti you see around towns etc, doesn't paint a good image for them,
Moreover a fair few so called Celtic fans don't even like football, i know this for a fact yet by pulling on there Hoops jersey they're looking to show there Republican side, they don't give a **** about the football team, they just want to act the hardman taking there Celtic top off and waving it about town at 2am on a friday and saturday night singing '**** the huns' and songs to that effect.
Apart from that i suppose they're alright.
      Goodnight and god bless.

I wonder if anyone ACTUALLY knows.
I do in fact. I was going to Anfield when we first started singing it and you can take it from me that no other club's fans were singing it at the time

It was indeed the situation at the time. I still remember that era clearly and how singing as a choir before the game began. Unfortunately it also just goes to show how old I am!
