OK Voronin has not been bad, but i don't think he and Torres compliment each other as well as others.

As for Pennant - if you honestly believe he has been our best player for the first two months you are obviously blind.

The lad is awful, he cannot tackle, he cannot put in decent crosses, tries to beat the same man 10 times in the same dribble. IMO the only thing he is good at is rolling around pretending to be seriously injured when his toe gets stepped on. he is a waste and we have been far superior without him.

Oh, and as for calling me a tool because you disagree with me, well........I could say something but I don't believe in personal insults when i disagree with someone's point of view, so I'll leave at that!

C'mon man, we have been poor in the CL. In the games against Marseilles, and Porto and Besiktas away we were wank. If we go through it doesn't necessarily mean we deserve to, if we beat Marseille we've been very lucky.

Strange reasoning there mate, we started off badly, but we're the top scorers in the tournament this season and if we win at Marseille we'll have 10 points, of course we'll deserve it.

I think we are playing the best football I've seen in years, on a par or even better than the side under Roy Evans when they were in top form.

There are a lot of things that define a side capable of winning the league:
Getting results when you are not playing well;
Scoring goals throughout the side;
Having a world class goal-scorer;
Handling the physical approach of the spoiler teams;
Scoring late goals;
Effective substitutes;
Keeping a tight defence;
Going on a long, unbeaten run.

We are doing all of that.

I think if we can string together a run of ten or so straight win (like we did at the end of 2005/06 season); and continue taking points off our closest rivals (wins would be great, but not losing is essential), we will win the league.

great minds shaggy. however i always pull myself back to earth by spotting the assumption that it all rests on. that we win all games.

now we are really starting to fire and i can see us doing that - much more so than a montha go - but the chances are that there'll be a draw in amongst that somewhere. possibly two - utd and portsmouth.

agree about the kewell point emerging on this thread. we look fantastic with him on the left, gerrard in the middle, benny on the right and torres up front. i'd play crouch with torres simply due to the hassle he causes and space he creates. and when he does get the chance, one of those clumsy looking overhead goals.

I can't understand why the Arse played their game in hand tonight and we didn't,especially as it appears the game still hasn't been given a new date.We're on fire at the moment so it'd been ideal to play West Ham now,then Reading,2 home games in a row.

Both teams have to agree a date, West Ham have a lot injuries, especially up front, so they didn't want to play the game on Wednesday.

The ‘fixture computer’ is supposed to be completely random – unless I’m mistaken? No way is this a coincidence. The same patterns emerge season in, season out.

It's never been completely random though mate...well, maybe it starts off that way, but ****loads of 'tweaking' is done.

There is no way it was chance that the 4 teams are playing each other on the same day. Not a chance, it's this vile Sky concept which has forced this.

how many teams cannot play at home on the same day? that will have some bearing on things.....us & bluescum,manc scum & City, brummies & villa anymore?
