Same mate. It's always the same arguments with the same posters etc ... etc ... it's zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz ..... and quite depressing when discussions go in in circles.

Like you, I'll stick in the chat chat, library and the music forum. I'll make the odd appearance as 'guest' poster in the LFC forum as from now.

That was a retro-active change. We were 3-0 down and the actual player change was enforced by an injury.

I'm talking about how, when Plan A doesn't work, he is extremely reluctant to go to Plan B. How many times have we had performances under Rafa where it's clear our tactics aren't really doing anything but we wait, and wait, and maybe if we're lucky around 60-65 minutes in we'll get one change, then 10 minutes later another. The Athens final is a perfect example where Crouch, who should have started, came on too late, for the wrong player, and we paid a heavy price.

Does everybody slating Rafa's lineup and 433 tactics know what his game plan was?
What was he hoping to achieve?
Why did we start with that set up?
How were we supposed to play?
What weaknesses in the opposition was he looking to exploit?

I am 100% sure that he had a well thought out strategy, and since we don't know it we should be a bit easier on the critique.
Sure, it didn't work the way it was intended, that much is clear. Was that Rafa's fault alone?

              Is anything ever rafa's fault?

What has been his fault? I'm quite curious.

And it could have come off just as easily as it failed. Fine margins.

                    Imo...
                    Not playing Crouch in Athens.
                    Not playing Didi in Istanbul.
Resting Torres at home to Brum..(in retrospect the team should have been good enough to beat Brum though...so some of it is down to players as well.)
Playing Momo when he is totally out of form.
Playing Torres when injured against Arse. (but what did Torres tell him...? we dont know)
                    And much more....

Well, I blame Rafa for the following:-

                      i)Carra's reckless and rash challenge,
ii) the blind ref who thought that challenge was inside the box yet saw those two minor touches the Reading defender got on the ball when bringing Torres down that it took everyone else 5 replays to spot
iii) Gerrard's rush of blood to the head that made him think it was a good idea to go steaming in and give away a needless free kick in a dangerous area
iv) our players getting caught horribly out of position for their third goal when we were chasing the game.
                      v) the woodwork which denied us twice

I just wondered because from what i can see, anything that ever goes wrong, the usual response normally says how it wasnt rafa's fault.

It was starting to feel as though he was just there by default and that none of his poor decisions actually have any impact...or maybe he's never made one.

I'm just trying to understand, so i can be a superfan too

                              Leave it Sydney, leave it.

To be fair to Rafa it was our first defeat and I think we should have had 3 penalties. Rafa just prepares for these 'details' but when everything goes against us, it's just too difficult to control.

I'm sick of all the stuff in the papers already, Ok I'll admit I was baffled by the tactics on saturday, but there does seem to be a media agenda here (call me paranoid if you like) but that was the first Premiership defeat of the season! Already yesterday and today I've read "wheels falling off", "Liverpool out of title race", "Rafa's lost the plot", "Rafa's getting sacked" type comments, we've lost ONE game, if we win our game in hand we're 4 points off top spot with over half the season to play. You never get these type of comments about Man Utd, Chelsea or Arsenal when they lose, it really does my head in.

                                Rant over
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
