Not surprised at the asking price as I'm sure he signed a new 4 yr deal pre-season?

I had high hopes for him after he joined LFC but he's never developed as a player since, even tho he hasn't played much this year at times he has shown some neet footwork in the tackle and getting out of it. The problem comes when he just doesn't seem to have the touch to play a decent pass which for any amateur footballer is a neccessity and he's meant to be a proffessional footballer.

It could have something to do with his eye injury but tbh he's never really had the skill. He plays best with Xabi as he breaks up the opposition midfield attacks and xabi passes it on - remember the FA cup win over the mancs at Anfield? But that's all he is a hacker who can destroy the opposition midfield but then someone else better take hold of the ball after that otherwise we'll lose it.
He was also ****e with Xabi IMO. + it meant that we had Gerrard on the right which made us look even worse because he never stayed out there. We lost all format, balance and width. A hopeless scenario altogether.

It's the same old story. Either he could learn how to play a HM or he would be rendered useless. He will never have the brains to play HM and he will never develop the skill to play creative CM on this level.

He would have been ace for Wimbledon back in the days.

Taking nothing away from gerrard - he scored two fantastic goals - but seriously there were times during extra time when momo was the only player we had on the pitch
He did good. He also did good in the 2nd half against Barca. He kicked Dinho/Xavi/ArtDeco allover the place. He could be very good when we needed to play anti-football. Problem is that we try to play football and control games in 14 out of 15 cases.

i admire his work ethic and what he has done since he's been here, fact is he is not good enough on the ball to command a 1st team spot!

          Sissoko fumes at Reds axe.

Mohamed Sissoko has hit out at his exclusion from the Liverpool side to face Marseille in the crucial Champions League tie at Stade Velodrome, insisting he will discuss his future at the Merseyside club in January.

The Mali midfielder played in the disappointing 3-1 defeat to Reading on Saturday but will be sidelined when Rafa Benitez's side bid to clinch the three points that will take them into the knockout stages of the competition.

"It is in France, all my family are there and they wanted to see me on the pitch," he stormed to RMC.

"It is a difficult time. I am good enough to play in this team.

"It's the manager's decision. I respect it but I will discuss this in January.

"I will make an assessment with my agents and the manager. I have been asking myself that question for a while.

"I accept healthy competition but to play one match every five does not interest me."

Oh the man is a midfield maestro
and his passes are sooo delightful

exactly - we are moving forward/trying to play football properly - 2-3 seasons ago he was just what we needed, someone who would run his bollocks off and snap everything that moved. Me and a mate were talking about this last night and agreed it isn't just liverpool that have evolved - it is the whole top four - it is so tight and competitive now at the top, and with the way arsenal and utd play/move the ball - there is no room for gung ho tackling anymore, everyone needs to be able to pass/move the ball properly

he would probably be class for anyone outside the top 4

His family being there doesn't mean anything. this is not Sissokopool, he should keep quiet.

A lot would disagree that he "is good enough" and this is also a match which we MUST WIN. Attack Attack Attack, no room for players in midfield who offer nothing going forward.

                    Midfield will be:

                    Kewell Gerrard Masher babel IMO.

Much as I like Babel, I think Benayoun should get the nod for this game (is he fit?) - his experience could be an asset and I also agree that Kewell will start for the same reason

Thanks for an average couple of years Momo, we needed you at the time but Masch and Lucas have raised the bar in ball retention so time to go.
Thankfully we got him to sign a new contract which should add a couple of mill to his value

Yeah he's fit. ideally actually, If I had it my way, I'd start Babel up top with Torres and slot Benny in on the right. I think pace up top is the way to destroy marseille. Unfortunately I don't think this will happen, nor do I think my second option will happen (Crouch Torres up top) I think Kaut will start up top with Torres, in front of that midfield. maybe Kewell will drop to the bench with Babel on the left and Benny on the right.
