The Hungarian hot-shot had hit four goals in two reserve outings prior to the match, but his goal touch deserted him again five minutes later, when he followed up his moment of creative genius with a woeful finish from six yards out.

I have never seen him play..but clinical finishing??

Every striker miss sitters. Torres have missed a lot of them this season for example.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Exactly, how can you have an accurate opionion on the lad if you have never seen him play

you seem to have seen most of our reserve games - I know Spearing is quite small. Are any of them physically ready for the prem?

Plessis is built like a tank. He looks a decent player.

              no he ain't

He is thin like Crouchy, and quite tall. Personally from what i have seen of him i don't think he will make it, his passing reminds me of Sissoko. Altho in fairness he has improved alot since he first joined. Astrit Ajdarevic is imo our bigggist prospect in centre mid.

He has one thing you need, an excellent first touch. He is also a very clever player with good vision.

Yeah, maybe he is not a tank, but he did look quite strong and tall. I must say though that I don't agree that his passing looks like Momo's. He seems much more composed and uses the ball intelligently.
                  I haven't seen Astrit yet.

I reckon Insua is the next in line to make it, San Jose looks ok, and Nemeth has made a promising start. Apart from that I don't really think there are that many I see making it, at least not at this point. Spearing could benefit of a loan move to a 1 div or championship side.

I saw Ajdarevic last year in our youth cup run. He does look tasty

I can't see Spearing ever make it.

Not because he isn't good enough but you can't expect any player to take a place from Alonso, Mascherano, Gerrard or Lucas.

We have the best central midfield in the world. We will loan him out and then sell him in a year or two, just like we will do with Guthrie IMO.

I'd happily sell Sissoko in Jan and promote Jay to 4th choice centre mid. He is a player i also really like and we can do with abit more scouse.

He would be fifth choice if we sign Masch.

I think that the likes of Spearing are a good example of why two more substitutes with them having to be under 21 in the PL would be good. Without the restriction I think it would be too big an extra advantage to the top teams but with it there would be extra chances for young players to get a chance and develop.

As a versatile player he would be a valuable player on the bench even if he is currently unlikely to displace any first team players. He sounds like the sort of good alround player who could take on an Arbeloa type role in the squad - able to play many positions because his basic skills are sound and he has the right attitude.
