The Reading game was just one of those things.

The issue I have with the Reading game is Rafa doesn't appear to have learnt from his mistakes.

We all know Kuyt up front on his own doesn't work but we went with it anyway at Blackburn and dropped points we would have surely gained given the last 20 minutes.

We all saw the effecting of resting Torres against Pompy away, but we then did it again versus Birmingham at home. More points dropped.

We know 4-3-3 works against **** teams like Watford and Charlton, but it didn't work against Everton last season at home because they had a bit of organisation about them. Reading away is a tricky game, we stole a victory there last season in the final minutes, and on Saturday dropped points which didn't have to.

That's at least 5 points we've lost out on doing things that we just know aren't going to work. Maybe even more. Take those points and not beating teams like Chelsea and Arsenal at home is acceptable, but combine it with failing to beat your rivals on your own turf and you'll soon fall off the pace.

As things stand now we are not out of the title race by any means, even if we only draw with Man Utd on Sunday, but Rafa has just got to stop making fundamental mistakes in selection and formation that he seems to delight in doing out of some belief that it'll eventually work.

Rafa is an innovator. He will always try things so as to learn. He will always make mistakes but by trial an error he will make less, while always learning and improving. It is a bit radical and may take more time than we like, but the end result could be special. If he is still here next season and is given a reasonable budget I will be backing us bigtime.

You're missing the point, which isnt surprising for a RCDNW sheep...

He took off Torres and Gerrard at Reading, to keep them fresh for an important game (tongiht's)...

Tonight, the game was won at 3-0 - and the next game is an important one...yet, he doesnt take them off early enough (or at all, in SG's case).

So the philosophy he used at Reading, clearly isnt THAT important to him, as he ditched it tonight.

Absolutely bizarre and defying all sense. DOES he believe in keeping players fresh or doesnt he??

The funny thing is, the perfectionism i sometimes have is the same as Rafa - he's a perfectionist too, when players come off, even if they've had a blinder, Rafa's there telling them where they went wrong.

He is the best partner for Torres, every match they have played together they have looked dangerous. I like Crouch but dont think him and Torres gel as well.
