It was an efficient and effective performance, nice and ruthless. We could have kept the ball a bit better though.Originally posted by Skillz View PostCouldn't agree more. As I said earlier, I am struggling to think of a better 90 minutes we have played under Rafa. Considering the pressure that was on and the venue I can see why Rafa feels so proud.

True. But we were well in front, early. Well within our rights to sit back a bit, and make the odd error. Fact is they found it very hard to get close to penetrating our defense, when they did Pepe sorted them.Originally posted by Bryncoch View PostIt was an efficient and effective performance, nice and ruthless. That reminds me, how good is Pepe's distribution. Infact how good is Pepe, full stop.
Nah. He won't win the Prem. You can quote me on that. - Sarb24

Pepe is certainly a member of the wide-awake club. If there's an opportunity to set up a quick counter-attack he spots it incredibly quickly.Originally posted by Skillz View PostTrue. i think you'll find that there are a couple of posters on here who arrogantly dismiss anything that doen't conform to their baseless prejudices. try and argue with them and they'll just insult you. if you heard something post it and it'll help you seperate who's worth listening to and who's not. i'm part of the NSWFB (no smoke without fire brigade) but like you and some others we're not real fans - in fact we're cunts - for being apprehensive about our owners and rafa. and on that note of self-pity i'm ****ing off back to old toilet.Originally posted by Lynchyred View PostSeriously disappointed with the guys here as I think everyone should have a chance to submit views and threads on the site and aren't on here 24 hours a day to read every article to make sure repitition doesn't occur. The first time I've really heard some "insider" info and put it on here, along with observations that I think are important and I am ridiculed. Cheers fellas.
And how you base your opinions it's a non-story when actual credible insiders throughout other fan sites agree that this is such an important matter (ie the editor of the biggest LFC fan site thinking last night's game was one of the most important games for decades, for example) and after the game last night and the implications it had, I thought I'd post something. Excuse me!
And if you think I should move on, then, apart from a real and current story which involves replacing the manager and therefore the team and in my opinion, changing the face of our football club (in terms of football and fabric) for the worse, what would you consider I think about in future and contribute to on this site, the 'Is Torres pretty' thread, or 'Is Kewell important' thread? Amazing!Felching ≠ Gerbilling

absolutely - very un-rafalike to get touchy-feely but good to see. but it does make me think that something is binding them together that wasn't previously there and that may be the presence and influence of a ****-you good ole boy who gets rid of anyone who disrespects him.Originally posted by ShaggyAlonso View PostI noticed the Rafa/Gerrard hug and I was glowing about it. There's certainly not usually that level of affection on display.
The squad/management team looked 100% united last night, on and off the pitch. A beautiful sight.
final football note. statistics are *******s - 64/36 possesion against us. say something about our style of play?
or just a brilliant performance away from home in a tricky tie? today i think it's the second one but...Felching ≠ Gerbilling

2-0 up after 11 minutes. 64% possession that we let them have. They produced bugger all, and we made them look impotent.Nah. He won't win the Prem. You can quote me on that. - Sarb24

the flipside of that is saying that if they don't have the ball, they DEFINITELY will produce bugger all. like many things rafa does, it seems counter-intuitive.Originally posted by Skillz View Post2-0 up after 11 minutes. 64% possession that we let them have. Good answer dsOriginally posted by desertscouser View PostI normally don't read much into sh!t like this but after the game watch Rafa and Stevie hug each other....I think Rafa may have even given him a kiss
I can't remember tha happening before.
The players are behind Rafa and in my opinion it's best that they shut the f**k up and let their talking be done on the pitch and not off it. We don't want Drogba's and Lampards in our side shouting their mouths off to the press every 5 seconds...fat good that did for Mourinho before he got the Russian's bullet.

Absolutely agree, that's exactly what I thought.Originally posted by NICKZS View PostI was initially disappointed that Gerrard didn't back the manager, but then Carra got up and said almost the exact same thing, "That's nothing to do with us, we are (as always) focused on playing our football". We can't win really can we? It was obvious that Rafa and Hicks' "war of words" in the media did nothing to improve the situation, in fact the opposite, and was one of the few things most fans were unified in thinking was badly done. Its quite obvious that the players themselves have been firmly told to completely avoid any questions of any sort about that. For them to be unusually presenting themselves as "110% behind the boss" would probably only be counterproductive both in terms of relations with the owners, and as it would lend credence to the idea that there actually is a situation where that sort of thing is required.I could not dig, I dared not rob:
