Did Kia Whatshisface not say himself that we have first option and that the ball is in our court?

      Spot on.

Didn't Juve or one of the other Italian clubs supposedly have first option on Lucas ?

      Didn't get them very far.

We had a two day first option on Lucas and signed him during that time.

        Excellent piece of business.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Correct. This thread is a complete over-reaction. What else can we blame Parry for?
You can agree with me, or you can be wrong.

Marcotti knows **** all, and is slightly biased against Liverpool in most matters.

Too true, Parry does a neat piece of business with Lucas, but only gets a mention when theres a percieved ****-up.

that is bollox of the highest order, a fixed price clause means everything, if it isn't 17 mill whats stopping kia from getting 25 and flogging him of to the highest bidder? we can be out priced thats what can happen, and thats why it is important. and thats why the reports are true cause i don't thin anyone was that daft not to put it in the contract...

If we don't have a fixed price at £17m then we won't be able to sign him even if Masch want to stay.

MSI would then only need to tell Masch that either he signs for the club they want or not playing at all at any club.

MSI can afford to wait six months or whatever if they can get £10m more for him.

No mate, YOU are speaking bollox of the highest order (and just for good measure, so is AFII). Just because someone accepts a higher offer it doesn't mean the player has to agree terms with and put pen to paper. A player cannot be forced to sign for a club just because they have made a higher bid.

There will be no waiting game in an attempt to get a higher fee as a ruling is due soon concerning players registrations and who is allowed to own them. This will undoubtedly rule against 3rd party organisations.

Third party ownership only comes into play if a player is already at a club, not if he goes back to MSI, in this case, at the end of his loan deal.

MSI owns him and won't count as a 3rd party in that case.

Carheex is right here, its the Owen saga over again isnt it? Newcastle put in a higher offer but if the little ****er had stuck to his guns then he would be our player (lucky escape)!

Same with Masch - if he makes it clear that he only wants to play for us, and sticks to it, then it doesnt matter if Milan offer £300 mill. Makes it far more awkward granted but still, ultimately its the players decision.

He would have to wait until the end of his contract with MSI.

It will then come down to if Masch loves Liverpool so much that he is prepared to miss out playing football the time he have left on his contract with MSI.

If Real for example offered £30m, then MSI would still make a profit even if they would pay his wages if he isn't playing for a year or two.

I don't think Masch would be prepared not playing for a year or two.

Only with us, not with MSI.
