What kind of canoe?Originally posted by Neil Young View PostI think it's pretty clear you're trying to bull**** everyone with all this conjecture about the speculation which threatens to unseat our coach, undermine our season and upset our fans. I have no agenda except to go for a short bike ride before the match kicks off. You however are clearly trying to unsettle the team before a crucial match (although it's only December) which just goes to show that you are a running dog imperialist lackey in the pay of the London/Manchester conspiracy which has the secret aim of denying the workers their rightful share of the fruits of their labours entirely in keeping with the globalist hegemony of the IMF and their paymasters the transnational corporations who enslave us all in their lust for profit filtered from the blood of the international proletariat...
Sorry, I think I may have wandered off the point which was that I deny all these allegations and am now going out to sea to paddle in my canoe. I may be some time...

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Oh but according to some people the money is nothing to do with the Yanks anyway, apparently anyone can get that sort of finance sorted and we shouldn't give them any kind of credit for itOriginally posted by Red_Al_77 View PostRafa will make it nigh on impossible for Punch and Judy to sack him because we will be very successful on the pitch. My only concern is Rafa walking of his own accord. But his family are settled, the fans love him (and he knows it), and the players respect him.The ingredients are there for a period of sustained success and the Americans will either get bored and feck off or join the program. Personally I'd rather they slung their hook as they have already proved themselves to be all mouth and no action. Oh for a Liverpool born billionaire to come in and restore dignity.
So if we club together on here I'm sure we could manage something

I know a guy who used to work with the solicitors firm that dealt with the take over and he told me before the take over that George Gillett would be buying the club with a colleague. This was when the DIC thing looked very much as if it would be going ahead and Gillett had dropped out of the picture. Anyhow, yesterday he said he'd been talking to former colleagues and he'd heard that G & H were talking to DIC about selling on. Can't vouch for its accuracy as its friend of a friend stuff but thought I'd pass it on anyway.

Interesting, it's certainly not the first rumour we've heard about G&H contemplating selling the club.Originally posted by tomasjj View PostI know a guy who used to work with the solicitors firm that dealt with the take over and he told me before the take over that George Gillett would be buying the club with a colleague. This one seems like a non-starter IMO. I'm sure DIC are interested in the club, but buying from the yanks would mean buying the shares for at least the same as what the yanks paid for them, may be more (unless of course the yanks are absolutely desperate to offload the club), and if DIC were unwilling to meet that price then I don't see what has changed since, unless some kind of massive value has been added to the club in that time.
Either way it does seem this hasn't turned out to be the investment G&H thought it would. May be down to the credit crunch or whatever, they've miscalculated somewhere. To be honest, I'm wishing we never sold to these guys at all. I'd have preferred Moores to stay in charge, wait and be 100% certain he found the right the custodians to take the club forward, not go for these clowns because they were the last ones standing.White liquid in a bottle = Milk

Bloomberg Reports LFC DEBT TALKS
Dec. 16 (Bloomberg) -- Liverpool Football Club is in discussions with Royal Bank of Scotland Group Plc over restructuring options that may add debt to the team's balance sheet, the Sunday Times reported, without saying where it got the information.
George Gillett and Tom Hicks, who agreed to buy the club in February, are in discussions with Royal Bank of Scotland, which may include transferring 350 million pounds ($707 million) of extra debt they took on to fund their takeover of the club, the newspaper said.
The restructuring talks are separate from discussions on funding for a new stadium, the newspaper said.
Royal Bank of Scotland spokeswoman Ila Kotecha said she couldn't comment on customer confidential information.
Liverpool Football Club spokespeople Ian Cotton and Kate Thompson didn't immediately return calls from Bloomberg.
The Sunday Times said it was unable to reach Hicks and Gillett for comment.Last edited by Bender; 17-12-07, 06:42 PM.

United are 700m in debt, at worst we'll follow their scenario. They're banking on huge revenues and the fact that they'll be optimizing our marketing potential. Huge risk, but it's doable.
Still, they did talk a load of bollocks when they first came in. I'll be curious to see how they explain that to us fans now.

So the sunday times reported it (the only people), bloomberg can't varify it as no one phoned them back IMMEDIATLY, the times couldn't contact G&H so it must be true.
They really think that RBS would take on the funding for a stadium which is supposed to be in place and also this debt as well, if numbers are to be believed RBS would be happy having £800m debt against a club that made approx. £30m last year. I do not see this being true.
