Sorry, I'm not an anorak, was there a specific reason on that occasion?

What I mean is that no-one, no real supporter (er...sic...it would hurt everyone) would turn up, thereby depriving 'the owners' of their 'revenue stream'.

Yeah but wasn't that St. Patrick's day and a Wednesday night game?

Yep, it was. Three days later against Wolves, the crowd was 43,795.

The reason was that we wanted to show Moores that we had had enough of Houlliers **** football if I remember things right.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

But if they do f**k us over I'm not sure I would be able to bring myself from not going to the matches just to hurt the owners revnue intake. I would protest all day long but at the end of the day I support LFC and that means the team that walks on to the pitch wearing our shirt.
You're right DS, no confirmations yet that they have done anything wrong, although I think we can rightly assume they are about to put a **** load of debt on the club which includes the cost of buying the club when they promised they wouldn't, and we're not sure whether they're backing Rafa to the extent they said they would (although again, we can make assumptions based on what's been said, and I mean by the main protaganists and not by the press).

Irrespective of putting us in debt, going for the ****ter stadium etc, if they sack Rafa I will not be lining the Americans' pockets any more. I would not give them a penny when I have no faith in what they're doing with our club. I can't go there and support a manager who I feel has no right to be there when we had a better man for the job and got rid of him because he fought for the good of the club. I'll still support the red men, the players that go out on the pitch, but it will have to be from a distance. Why the **** should I give up my hard earned cash to a bunch of clowns.

If truth be told, what we've seen and heard from the Americans and Parry this last month, and more crucially what we haven't heard from them, I'm very sceptical about them and their motives. If I'm honest, I wish we never sold out to the yanks.

Spot on.......... it's just another crap tabloid selling papers on the back of LFC

The only concrete thing we have is the clubs denial about the change of plans for the new stadium........ the rest is tabloid guff about whatever they think they can ignore/deny later.

Fcuk 'em all, don't buy tabloids (except for hangovers).

Let's just concentrate on getting behind the team and stuffing the mancs.

They delivered Torres. So far, so good as far as I'm concerned.

They didn't pay for him themselves. The money was already there from the CL and the new TV deal.

This is probably what the article meant by them paying for it themselves. The thing to remember here though is that the repayments on that loan will be paid from the clubs coffers not G&H's personal pocket. So, no, they have not spent any of their own money nor will they in the future. They are getting the club to buy the club for them.

Also when they get the new loan sorted for the stadium they will in all likelihood use it to refinance the initial loan they used to buy the club. This will then mean that as well as the club making the repayments on the loan it will also be secured against the club.
Well this is it isn't it? This is the cruxt of the matter.

Hasn't Hicks himself said they are arranging a refinance of the original loan used to buy the club, which was secured personally by them, and the new finance package will include funding for the stadium? So essentially the money they will be borrowing will be secured by the club's assets and the new stadium, but will be psrtly used to pay off their personal loans? So the debt in buying the club will be now transferred on to the club. And if rumours are true this is what GIllett and Hicks fell out over, that Gillett wanted to be true to his word that the club wouldn't go into debt over the purchase in the same way as Man U did with the Glazer takeover.

Only reason I remember that was because I flew that night to Liverpool and was at the Wolves match. Didi scored a cracker against Pompey and Sami score with seconds left against Wolves. Me mate had money on Sami at 30 or 35/1 to score the 1st goal.

So the daily hate mail know all about our transfer and business strategies.hmmmmm. more crap. Tranfers could be funded by player sales.

No doubt the Mail are stoking the fires, I have no doubts about that. Conveniently always seems to happen on the eve of a big game.

But the fact that the Mail is publishing speculative, baseless drivel does nothing to reassure me about the direction the yanks are taking our club

The Portsmouth game was re-arranged due to our playing Portsmouth in an FA Cup replay at Fratton Park. We let in a soft goal in the final minutes in the original tie and then were beaten at their place. So I think it was a combination of factors that led to such a low attendance for the Portsmouth game; it was St Patrick's Night, re-arranged game, playing poorly....

personally I went to see Kraftwerk instead.
