Situation now is... they either give him the money or sack him. Pretty simple really. Rafa picked the right team. Kewell, Benny, Kuyt let him down. But for me management is about tactics and instilling belief in your team (motivation if you like). The tactics were not working and it was obvious to me 30 minutes in. He didnt change it until 65 in. It was also very obvious that we were nervous playing them.

I'm on the fence. I can't see Rafa winning us the league to be honest. There is no improvement from 3 years ago against the top sides. Three years ago we finished 5th and won number 5. This year, in all honesty, hard to see us finishing above 3rd.

Rafa now need the big money to go after the high quality players that will make a difference in a game like this. If he don't, then we won't win the league, it's as simple as that.

I don't think we would have lost with Aguero instead of Kuyt for example or with a better right winger than Benayoun.

It's that little bit of extra high quality in our attacking play that are missing right now against the best teams in the league.

WTF is Kuyt doing, the guy is a joke, 10 mil for a work horse. kewel was rubbish along with Benayoun. the only way we are going to win these sort of games is by getting the cheque book out, which seems unlikely. nail on head. They have the edge in confidence because they are champions. As rafa keeps saying, it's about tiny margins. Goal-aside there was nothing between the 2 teams. Their defense had a better day than ours in practically their only attempt on goal. That's football, I'm afraid.

It is the difference because Man United have the financial ability to sign a 17-year old kid from Portugal for £12m without blinking an eye, sign two average central midfielders for £17m each to fill a "gap" in their squad and sign a defender for £30m.

All I want to know is why Rafa waits so long to make a Sub when it is blindly obvious to everyone that it is needed? That is my one and only gripe with Rafa. There is no way he could have watched Kuyt today and thought he was playing well, leave him on?

I just don't understand it. Don't get me wrong, Crouch didn't do much when he come on but he contributed more than Kuyt, and at least all our hoofs and crosses had a target. Crouch and Babel should have come on at half time imho.
