Carra's carrying an injury, Gerrard's unwell, Torres has been carrying a knock for a couple of weeks. I don't blame the manager for rotating tonight under the circumstances.

While I like this competition and would hope we'd play a full team resting Torres is completely understandable. He was injured, then come back as a sub v Fulham then started every game since. Ahead of a period where you have 4 league games in about 10 days it's hardly the shock of the century if he wants to rest a player who has never played such a schedule before.Originally posted by Red_Al_77 View Post. If a young man like Torres can't handle 3 games in 7 days then there is something amiss.

Don't think Kewell will play as he's started the last two games.Originally posted by Taffy View PostMy guess for tonight's line-up would be:
------------------Reina
Arbeloa--Carragher/Hyypia--Hobbs--Aurelio
-----------Alonso--Lucas
Babel-----------------------Kewell
---------Voronin--Crouch
Subs: (from) Itandje, Carragher/Hyypia, Riise, Sissoko, Benayoun, Leto, Kuyt.
Sub in Leto and I think you may have a winner.A humble guy with healthy desire.

A win against Chelsea is always good and I'm sure no one on here would turn down a day out at Wembley so we should give it a good go.

From the Offal
Xabi Alonso is back in the Liverpool starting XI for Wednesday night's Carling Cup tie at Stamford Bridge after recovering from a metatarsal break.
The influential midfielder, who hasn't featured since the end of October, lines up alongside Lucas and Momo Sissoko in the middle of the park.
Ryan Babel, Andriy Voronin and Peter Crouch make up a three-pronged attack.
The Liverpool team in full is: Itandje, Arbeloa, Aurelio, Hobbs, Carragher, Alonso, Lucas, Sissoko, Babel, Voronin, Crouch. Subs: Martin, Hyypia, Riise, El Zhar, Benayoun.
