I moan quietly in the stadium like everybody else but nobody from "outside" can hear those private comments whereas an open internet forum or a live phone-in show is definitely "washing your dirty linen in public". Which never used to be "the Liverpool way"...There is a light that never goes out. RIP Alan "Mally" Johnston and the 96. YNWA.

And in showing we take it in our stride can only be good. It doesn't mean we're not disappointed but every successful man / team, must have the ability to refocus instantly and put disappointments to bed quickly.

No worries RS4. I didnt know that about the Citeh stadium.Originally posted by rushscored4 View PostSome good points in there, carlton, but Citeh don't own their new stadium; it's owned by the City of Manchester City (hence the official name and it's nickname "the council house"). Therefore it doesn't generate any additional revenue for the club and Citeh have to pay rent for the privilege of playing in that wonderful atmosphere...
"I watched the Champions League quarter-finals and the way they crushed Arsenal. Only the greatest and the best can play such a match.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

I agree with you Iain. But I bet if the internet / radio phone ins were around 30 yrs ago (not that we ever moaned as we were head and shoulders above all other sides) people would air their grievances on internet forums just as they would in a pub. Its a sign of the times and we've got to live with it.Originally posted by rushscored4 View PostI moan quietly in the stadium like everybody else but nobody from "outside" can hear those private comments whereas an open internet forum or a live phone-in show is definitely "washing your dirty linen in public". That's fine mate. You are obviously more of a successful man then myself and thousands of other reds who simply don't have the strength of character to put a home defeat against our most hated rivals to the back of our minds a few minutes after the final whistle.Originally posted by fredo View Post

Fredo, you don't quite understand the rivalry between us and the Mancs, that was evident last season when you couldn't understand why alot of us were concerned about what sort of violence awaited us in athens had the Mancs joined us in the final. And to be honest that's fine, it's because of that you're able to immediately move on from a defeat which is lucky for you. But for some of us, that's just not possible.

It's not melodramatic. I'm the same as are many others. I genuinely envy others on here who can just forget about a result immediately. But maybe we care more? Or maybe we're just weak?Originally posted by DJS View Post
I know it sounds melodramatic but it actually affects my mood for a good while when we lose a game, let alone to them.
I wish i COULD just switch off and put it to the back of my mind, but it just doesnt work.

I've said in one of my posts yesterday, that I came to blows with some of my mates who were manc fans, many moons ago ... And I didn't like it mate. I didn't like it one bit. That is why I've decided to change ... I even had altercations with my dad, who's an ardent Manure fan. That was wrong for me and realized that it's just a sport in the end.Originally posted by desertscouser View PostThat's fine mate. Don't take me wrong, I love LFC and I was just gutted when we lost on Sunday. I just decided that I wouldn't let this defeat put me down even through provocation by mates of mines.

Funny you say that Tom, something that has been rolling around my head for weeks now is the difference between FANS and SUPPORTERS, anyone can be a FAN let's be SUPPORTERS.Originally posted by Tom View PostStop whinging. Support the club.
The boys need the support of real fans now, and could do with not being undermined by the the pathetic amauter analysis of keyboard warrors which gets picked up on by the tabloid press and amplified back as pressure on the club.
Don't do the oppositions job for them or if you can't feck off and support 606 Surrey SKY FC.
Rant over.

I'm still gutted and get a horrible feeling in the pitt of my stomach whenever I think about Sunday.Originally posted by desertscouser View PostThat's fine mate. Quite how anyone can put a defeat to the Mancs to the back of their mind is beyond me.
i've had to make a real effort in recent years not to let defeats effect my moods as it was having an effect on my Mrs & kids. It got to the point where the kids would be upset if we lost because they knew i'd be upset. Now I just have a quiet 10 minutes to myself, take a deep breath and get on with things. It still hurts but I try not to let my hurt outwardly show.AKA Heighway No9

We all suffer emotions differently and trying to compare your pain to another's smacks of some sort of competition. Your not weak either BTW. Everyone of us deals with our emotions differently, that's all our emotions regardless of the reason. Footy, family, wife, job etcOriginally posted by desertscouser View PostIt's not melodramatic. I used to hurt so bad it affected my lifestyle. I still struggle but I have learnt to take a deep breath and be perspective about it, try to understand it and think it through. Why did it happen?
Coming on to a forum and rambling ****e about whoever had a bad game that night serves no purpose to me. Discussing the game and recognising where we went wrong and by all means criticising the error's/bad player's within reason. Bring it on.
The problem with forums is it does allow an outlet of rage/frustration. That's great unless it affects peoples enjoyment. That is why I like people to at least keep it constructive or when we get to emotional keep it short as in a couple of post's. Otherwise your probably derailing the thread.Nah. He won't win the Prem. You can quote me on that. - Sarb24

bird recons i sent her a message saying my whole christmas had been spoilt by this result........ which is obviously how i felt at the time.
it upset her that christmas could be spoilt on the outcome on a game, row on, course i denied it as i was drunk so as far as im concerned it didnt happen,
denile isnt just a river in africa fellas right"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.
"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."
