Looking for the positives from the match.

Xabi was back and I personally am a lot more confident with him taking the ball off the defence than any other of our players. He was looking good I have to say, although his range with crossfield passes was slightly off, all in all good to have him back.

Hobbs looked decent although he still panics when he is pressured, but more games will ease him up a bit. Definitely feel he is a player in the making.

Carragher was his usual self, extremely bad luck with the goal, other than that, he was solid.


However, I am at odds to see what Voronin offers to the team. He was awful tonight and was stroppy etc all match. There isn't anything that pisses me off as much as yapping amongst team mates. I mean he threw a strop when Babel tried to play a pass through to the on-rushing Lucas. Younger players need encouragement not that ****ing bollocks off their team mates. I would like a striker with potency as well

How many deflected goals does Frank Lampard get?? Seriously half his goals come from either defelections or penalties!! He must be the luckiest player in the league!!!

You make your own look in football. You can only score a deflected goal by actually getting in the positions and shooting. Carra did well to get a block in, but had he reacted quicker, or better still, a midfielder had tracked him he wouldn't have got the time to shoot.

It was fairly obvious that Chelseas main threat with no Drogba was gonna come from Lampard, and yet he had three good chances in the game. Got to put it down to good play by him as he does it week in, week out, but surely we should have tracked him better.

It still does my nut in though. He was lying on the ground making a tit of himself well after Crouch had been sent off, why?
