Fredo, you are considered by many around here to be the village idiot so I hope you'll understand why I don't take that insult to heart.

If it came from one of the more respected posters, maybe I'd feel differently.

He might be right. For all I know, he could be one of those Skando strongmen types. But that's no match for my keyboard and a thousand miles of land and sea.

When it looked like DIC would buy us people close to them made that clear. Also remember the leaked document that said they'd sell us in 7 years times as they thought that would be the optimum selling point. Anyone thinking DIC would be knights on white horses saving LFC from the daterdly yanks is living in cloud cuckoo land IMO.
          Exactly.

I think most people want a Roman type to buy us and just spunk their money on the club with no return.

They think DIC would do this when there's no evidence to suggest they will.

So why not give Rafa and the yanks the chance to run the club properly, and build this thing, instead of wanting some sugar daddy cunt to come in and splurge untold millions for a quick fix.

If that's what you want then fine, admit it. But moaning about the yanks not giving Rafa £100m to spend every window makes people sound like glory hunters quite frankly. If that's what you want go **** off and support the chavs.

I'll make a mental note to stay off the road when his missus is driving then. If I'm ever in Sweden. And if I'm ever an elk.

                is absolutely correct

the ECHO is the clubs mouthpiece not its chief football writer himself - this has been the case long long before chris bascombe and is likely to remain the case.

bascome will have retained some contacts at lfc from that time but essentially es out of the loop now.

in addition, hes now writing for a sunday, and a rag at that - pretty much everything ive read in recent months falls in the "exaggerated shyte" category.

im happy to sit back and be proved right about how this current regime fares at lfc but if im wrong, then itll be due to events happening after today and nobody will hear it first from the news of the world

I'm happy as long as Rafa have a fair chance to go for his number one targets in every window and not for his second, third or fourth choice.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

how will you ever KNOW wether he has signed his first/second/third choice player or not though?

Just go with the flow skando and see what happens

Do I really have a choice?

What I mean is that if Rafa want a high quality player that would improve the team a lot then he should get a chance to sign him even if that player costs £20m+.

Of course he can't sign a lot of £20m+ players every season but two-three/season should be possible as long as he sells off some players.

3 20 mill players a season fella is 60 odd million a year.

I dont want to become one of them clubs to be honest, its not the liverpool way.

Each to their own though kidder

£60m minus the millions he gets for the players he would have to sell.

£40m/net season sounds like a fair transfer budget.

I couldnt give a **** wht our budget is to be honest mate, as long as we dont just go spending silly money like them cunts united and chelsea. What liverpool and arsenal do is more my cup of tea, and involves more managerial skill.

I grew up watching us buy one, maybe 2 if your lucky, good players each summer and maybe a squad filler or two. This is what I like to see.

I dont ever want to see us become one of them cuntish clubs like United, Chelsea or Real madrid that just spunk good money after bad in a ridiculous attempt to buy trophys.

                                I prefer the liverpool way.

Too many players coming in all the time just upsets the rhythm and balance anyway, as Real will testify to down the years.

Some hungry workhorses with a sprinkkling of quality players around is the right balance and we are damn close to having the perfect balance.

A load of superstar bellends coming in would just **** that balance right up[ and send us backwards
