Seems a very well thought out argument. However on the point of the valuation of LFC I think that if they had secured finances for the stadium prior to the sudden change in financial climate it would have been very good value. We have been poor at exploiting our commercial potential and as has been seen at Arsenal the investment in a stadium can bring in a new and considerable revenue stream.

I still think that long term (maybe 5-10 years) that the value as an investment will be shown. They might have to ride out a few very tough years now. I think the problem is whether they understand the football market well enough to judge the amount we can afford to pay in transfers correctly while balancing this with attaining success on the pitch.

I have the feeling that with one or two more big signings now we could revert to a more thrifty, youth orientated transfer policy like that which Arsenal have had recently and still do well in the short to medium term.

With regard to the younger signings, that is exactly what Rafa has done in the last 18 months. I'm not sure there be much in the kitty for more Torres style deals though.
          Oh I don't know.

Your views on Gillett and Hicks

I am in contact with a Major Broadsheet who want to do an independent online Poll to amongst Liverpool fans about their feelings of the takeover, of Gillett, Hicks and the current situation at the club.

Results will be published. Note this paper and journalist interviewed Hicks only last week.

Please post the type of questions and ideas you feel need to be asked.

You may well be right but I think the right approach would be to secure Mascher and an experienced attacking player and then have more restricted budgets going forward. To me we need a leader with the right personality to knit our forward play together and allow us to really threaten the other top 3 teams in the games between us.

I understand that this is a worthwhile exercise but I'm going to merge this with Foggy's poll. You will find most of the answers/questions there.

Fair enough mate. The newspaper will look at that and then do the questionnaire...

EDIT: The online poll will be in the form of a formal questionnaire, this thread is just to understand the themes needed.

Not according to Moores it wasn't, well he would say that I know. As for the rest of the shareholders, I would have expected them to put big pressure on Moores to get the most money they could.
But Moores did give other reasons for selling to the Yanks.

'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Is this of your own doing Rashid? Did you get in touch with the broadsheet and offer this service?.

Ahh the Rampant Radish returns. Hello mate.

I am as yet undecided about the septics. AS far as I am concerned there has been much flourish & talk yet little change & lots of negative back-tracking. You can put me in the "sceptical & suspicous yet open to be persuaded otherwise" camp.

As for the vote above, I chose the "wait till the Jan transfer" market one, but I prolly should have chosen "wait till summer" for it is not just the transfers that matter but also how they conduct themelves off it in the future.

From the look of the vote tho, most of us seem undecided at best. Looks like the new owners have a lot of work to do if they want to get us back on side...

I should add that I find all of the retrospective talk of DIC rather tedious, depressing & futile.
