A Liverpool biased prem XI

That is hasty my friend. Mascher and Reina definite no's? I think you could make a strong case, nay, very strong case for 7 of our players and at the start of the season that'd have been 8 because of Finnan. 8! Eight!

The other 3, why not? They're great players, Reina and Mascher are world class in their positions, Agger is a fookin good player.

Reina would definetly start for me, best keeper in the Prem. Mascher is one of the top 3 in the world in the DM role, of course he'd be pushing for a place

Mascher is the one of the three i'd have most doubts about. None of the other big 4 have holding player in the same style as Mascher anymore (Makalele rarely starts anymore), so he'd be my only concern of the three, mighty fine player though he is.


So my question is if we have 5, 6, 7 even 8 players in the best prem XI and the rest of the 19 teams in the league would only field half the team combined why are we not streets ahead in the title race? I'm convinced we have the best side and best manager. Very baffling.

Well unfortunately there's only 1 spot in goal and 2 in central mid and Cech takes the goalkeeping jersey hands down IMO and there are 3/4 keepers fighting for second best.

Alonso is one of the best players in the world for me but Gerrard takes one of the midfield slots and there are defensive players like Essien that might partner him over alonso.

masher is a top defensive mid but Essien is better and way better in attack....

Players like Terry, carra, ferdinand, Carvalho, Toure and Gallas are all ahead of Agger IMO.

Kewell years ago maybe but not now.

Finnan might get in there I suppose...

But the way you suggested Reina was a "big fat no" - was as if you thought he was **** or something. Of course Cech is an outstanding keeper, but I would honestly prefer Reina - not at least because he doesn't wear a stupid helmet

There's no way Reina is on par with any other keeper other than Cech in the prem. He's miles better than them all and I think he's better than Cech aswell

masher is a top defensive mid but Essien is better and way better in attack....

Essien is box-to-box, not a holding midfielder.

Compare him to Gerrard, not Masher.

Not sure I got the name right, but I think it is either the least goals conceded or most clean sheets in a season. Either way - Reina won it the last two years.

And I havn't even mentioned players like Fabregas and J. cole who I rate really highly......hmm, there are just not enough spots. I suppose the only ones that really stand out above the rest are Torres,Cech, gerrard, Terry, Ronaldo, Rooney and possibly Drogba

I'm not talking about current form though boss. If I was Fabregas would be in central midfield beside Gerrard...amongst other changes

Fair enough. But even over the last 3 years I think Reina has been as good as if not better than Cech.
