Andriy Voronin - has it all gone wrong for him? He was flying at the start of the season - he looked like a really good acquisition imo. But since about October he has looked pants imo. So has he lost form or was he playing at a greater level than he usually does at the season start? In other words are we now seeing the true Voronin or has he hit a sticky patch and will get back to the kind of performances he was putting in during the first few weeks of the season?

I hate to say it but this is more like the Voronin I was familiar with. I saw quite a lot of him for Leverkusen and couldn't for the life of me work out what Rafa saw in him.
As you say he started very well and I was surprised. Lately though he's been garbage and, for my money, should be used as our 4th choice. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Not sure really, the Leverkusen fans didnt really rate him did they? SO this could be a truer reflection of his abilitles of late.
What I would say though is that if this is the case, we need to trear him as a 4th choice & benchwarmer for when there are injuries at best.
All that having been said, he's not much worse than Kuyt of late.3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Pretty much spot on.Originally posted by ShaggyAlonso View PostI hate to say it but this is more like the Voronin I was familiar with. I saw quite a lot of him for Leverkusen and couldn't for the life of me work out what Rafa saw in him.

If we could get a few million for him, I'd sell him in the striker reshuffle that is sure to happen in the summer...

Think he is awful player and as much I would critise Kuyt at least he works hard the same can not be said of Vorinin, not up to standard hopefully shipped out in the summer"All I'll ever do is all I've ever done in any job, and that's promise to fight for my life for the supporters and the people of the city"

We have a poor squad of forwards which has to be addressed in the summer. Only Torres is safe from the axe. I would without a shadow of a doubt sell Kuyt and Voronin and replace them with top quality forwards.Originally posted by anfieldanfield View PostPretty much spot on.

I think that players with a good brain but limited skill need to be playing week in week out to get the runs/movements of the ther players, I think hes a good player but not good enough for us and certainly not an out and out striker. Shove him in Bolton with Anelka and they would work well id say. Or that type of team/player.

I think Voronin is a good, clever player but not quite good enough in the long run. Still, Id give him a proper change till end of the season. Kuyt has got his change and didnt use it, so now it should be Voronin's turn to try. Then in the summer sell either Voro or Kuyt and sign a proper supporting striker with real quality.

I think that the problem is that both Voronin and Kuyt are the same sort of players. Their game is based on movement and making room/chances for others. They don't score enough and we don't have more goals from midfield than say United so overall we suffer.
I think one of the two is a great option in the squad but I can't help feeling that having both is a bit of a waste. I also think that the more we play Babel on one of the wings the more we will get out of either of them as his runs into the box take some of the weight off them in those areas."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

That is kind wahat I was trying to say as one of the parts of my 1st post on this topic.Originally posted by Red_Polo View PostI'm not sure how much more we really need to be getting from a 4th choice striker. Are we behind Man Utd because Voronin isn't as good as Dong Fangzhou? Or is it more to do with the fact that Rooney, Saha, and Tevez are better than Crouch, Kuyt, and Torres?
He's vaguely Ok-ish as a 4th choice, but the problem is that because the 2nd & 3rd choices arent up to scratch he is getting too much time on the pitch.3rd place. Worst champions ever.
