as much as i like Jones he needs to be more clinical although he would be great foil for Torres. not ready to step up in class to Liverpool yet

The 3 strikers i think we could realistically sign and make the difference would be,, 1) e, Gudjohnson 2) j, Defoe and 3) T, Henry... an i have no doubt in my mind all 3 would want to join us an they would be affordable 7-10 mill....any thoughts?.
With a liverbird upon my chest, we are men of rafa's best, a team that plays the liverpool way and wins the championship in may!

To be fair the Guardian podcast a few weeks ago was reporting that senior Barca board members were very disappointed about what they had got for their money. So maybe a reasonable value transfer would be possible.

Having said that if he was it means that one of the top clubs who no doubt have top medical staff will have written him off as being able to play in a less physical league than the PL so even at a low price he may be a poor purchase.

maybe he would, but I still cant see barca writing off nearly £10 million quid after only a few months

Splash the cash, speculate to accumulate, buy David Villa and win the title

david villa would certainly break the bank and spoil the summer spending spree when we could get 2-3 top class players in other areas the need strengthening...a nice cheapish striker in january 2 end the season an hit the market big in the summer...

I'm not so sure about Henry.

In his prime he was untouchable but he has had a horrific run of injuries which seem to have taken their toll on his game.

Even if his injuries cleared up I can't see him leaving Barca before the end of the season. I think he has a point to prove there.

The only time Owen has been injury free is at Madrid when he didn't play every week so wasn't suseptable (sp) to injury.
Rafa rotates so that's that problem solved.
I'm not a massive Owen fan but for under 6mill I would take him and anyone who says otherwise is seriously deluded because at 50% fit he is better than Crouch, Voronin and Kuyt.
Let's not get started on this judas, mercanary bollocks, Gerrard handed in a transfer request but that gets forgotten. Owen went and tried his luck with Madrid, he didn't try to engineer a move to Chelsea.
I'm not slating Gerrard either, just stating facts.
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.
