I think Anelka would be a terrible partner for Torres, he won't help him find space and he certainly won't allow him to get more goals. I also think Anelka would be considerably less effective for us as he is for Bolton as teams tend to close us down a lot more than they do playing against Bolton.

He's be great. Fantastic players can always play with eachother; I'm not a believer in the "too similar" argument, just look at Tevez and Rooney, only took them about 5 games to get going and HOW they got goin. Anelka and Torres would be better than those 2 aswell IMO

No your jumping to conclusions, sorry, I never actually implied that at all. I'm saying that Anelka wouldn't help draw defenders and create chances for Torres like Kuyt does and he would not be allowed the same space playing for us as he is at Bolton and he would not have the same scoring record.

It stands to reason if he is injured he cannot score. However look at the games he has played the last year and his goals per game ratio and it proves his quality.

Personally, I'd like to see Berbatov in a Liverpool shirt. I think he and Torres would make an excellent combination up front. The downsides are that he's cup-tied in Europe, and we probably haven't got enough money to land him.

Say what you want about the "backstabbing midget" but his record speaks for itself. He scores goals and is a big game player. If the rumours are true and newcastle are looking to offload him on the cheap then it would be madness not to sign him. Forget his injury record, the physio team at newcastle are a joke. Rafa would get him fit, the rotation policy would suit him and he would be a perfect option as a 2nd or 3rd choice striker. Kuyt and Voronin are not clinical enough in front of goal for a eam that is looking to challenge for the title.

I think you can sign one player who has played uefa cup can be registered for the CL in the Jan window..not sure though. It doesn't matter really cause we don't have the 20million needed to sign berbatov!!
